I spend all year trying desperately to build up hope in my mind that the human race is going to make it, that people aren't so bad, then it's all destroyed every Black Friday.

LOL.. yes and that's what they THINK they're saving.

They're actually saving like $50 most likely, because very few of the apparent deals are actually deals at all. price manipulation, etc.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the vast majority of stuff on sale during Black Friday obsolete inventory that's going to be on the clearance shelves in a month from now?

Or it is specially made for black friday, and will break down in February. Possibly the reason why almost everyone seems to need a new TV every single year. It's all garbage or under powered electronics.​

How to fuck with poor people:

Option 1) Raise prices at the start of November. Then cut them down to their original values on Black Friday and say it's a "sale."

Option 2) Create low-range products that give you the same margin when they're on "sale" as your other products do at their standard prices. Remember, you WANT it to break in less than 1 year, so they're forced to come back and buy another shitty item next November. Try to time the breakdown so it's not too early, because then instead of waiting for your Black Friday "sale" they'll just buy someone else's shitty product earlier in the year.

Option 3) If you own an electronics store, you don't even need to cut prices at all. Just say you did. Slap up some "SALE" signs around the store, and then put strikeouts on the item prices with updated red prices next to them. The red prices need not offer any substantial savings whatsoever, people will see the word "sale" combined with a slashed out price and think "holy shit, I'm buying this!"

* Note: Each method should be accompanied with a phrase such as "before it's too late" "don't miss out" or "ending in 5 minutes!"

- 30 min to turn into the mall out of traffic.
- 30 min to find a parking spot.
- 10 min to get around crowd and arrive at store.
- 5 min wasted shuffling around people looking at things.
- 30 min trying to checkout.
- 10 min to get around crowd to leave the mall.
- 30 min to get out of mall parking lot.
- 20 min to get home from highway.

* 1 hour spent arguing with other people, fighting, or recovering after getting trampled on.
*30 min spent watching other people duke it out while capturing on a cell phone.

* Overspending, not using the best online coupons.

Shipped to my house for free.
Saving a shit ton of $$$ using coupon codes the store doesn't display in public.

At the Walmart near where I live, this guy recorded a fight over some TVs. There were cops around, and all they did about it was tell the guy who recorded it that he had to leave or they were going to arrest him. lol...
