Are any of you going to wake up 3 in the Morning and wait like 2 hours outside the store?

I checked the ads and can't find a really good deal. The best is a 24" LCD for 240

did you spot any good deal?

Ive never gone shopping on Black Friday because a) I hate the mall b) I hate large crowds of idiots at the mall c) Its racialist!

It depends...every year I go through the ads on the way up to RI for Thanksgiving with the family. After dinner and all, my father and I get in the car and jet over to wherever (Circuit City/Best Buy/what have you, wherever the best deals are) at midnight. We then go over to wherever has the 2nd best deals...and so on. That way, we get to the best deals first and (hopefully?) get ahold of them. Who cares anyways...if you don't like it, return it in a week, so long as you read the T&C on the store flyer :)

I go x-mas shopping with my brother every year on Christmas eve. We get drunk and then go out shopping. It's tradition. We usually end up buying more stuff for ourselves than anyone else, but hey, it's the thought that counts, right? Hahaha :)

I do all my xmas shopping online. Have done it for years now. I get postal in crowds. Really. It's not pretty.

I'd rather spend my time ca$$ing in on the shitloads of people buying things on that day.

To say I dont like crowds would be an understatement. I have severe social phobia. Somehow 2 years ago I managed to do it. I didn't go anywhere hours early, either. I went to Walmart when they opened, drove across the street to Staples ( opened later) after that, went to best Buy, Target, etc. I did OK, but the thing that got in my way was credit cards putting up fraud flags ( people spend money on Black Friday? who knew?) and approvals not being available, etc. Staples for example couldnt approve a large purchase on my Staples COmmercial ( that was well under my limit) and the approval people were "closed." So then I put that on another card- and they shut me down after spending a few grand at several different stores. Between that and unit maximums ( " only 2 DVD players per customer, only 1 laptop, etc") I was kept from buying enough stuff to make it really worthwhile.

As far as actual Christmas shopping. I leave that to my wife, and she informed me we were finished shopping about 2 weeks ago.

BTW, in case it wasnt clear I was NOT "Christmas Shopping." I was buying shit to sell and make money.

Last year, I just didnt feel like doing that again. I made good money 2 years back but I like to think I have found better use of my time. All the time and stress involved probably outweighed the ROI.

As far as actual Christmas Shopping, my wife informed me we were done about 2 weeks ago.

Man, I went once, like 3 years ago and waited in line for like 5 hours to get a $200 laptop from wal-mart. I was 1 of 13 people that got one... there were 50+ people in line. A cop had to walk me out to my car.

Never doing that shit again.

been broke for years, makes shopping for stuff difficult. broke out of my own doing - valuing my time over working for the man... heh. at any rate, I'm sorta clueless to this stuff too - I was in the market for a laptop last year so I went to Best Buy on what was to be Black Friday like at 7PM. I had the sales flyer and I grabbed a sales associate and said, "I have a few questions about laptops - let's start with this one in the flyer, can you show me that one?" He damn near died.

An aside to this is that on Christmas Eve they ran a decent deal so I went in and was debating about the laptop on sale. The sales guy told me there was only one left. I said okay, I'd think about it. I looked at a couple other laptops and then a couple came in from the front and beelined to the laptop on sale. I overheard the husband tell the wife, "this is it! this is the one!" and she said, "well, then get it, honey!" I saw the sales guy walking towards them and I intercepted him and said, "say, I will take that laptop." He lit up and said, "great" and then went back to the main desk to get the keys. He walked over to the couple, smiled and then opened the display case and grabbed the last one. Moments later a sales rep walked up to them and asked if he could help them and they said they wanted that model and he looked down and said, "oh, sorry. looks like we're all out."
