The traditional BH approach is throwing up a lot of low-quality sites with hundreds or thousands of computer generated pages and automated link spamming – guest books, blogs, forums, etc – to get the sites and pages indexed by the SEs. However, creating hundreds of such sites may produce a significant income if they get indexed and generate traffic.
Personally, I DON’T create low-quality (spammy) sites or use automated link spamming anymore... this is old-school BH. In my opinion, the way to go is Blackhat SEO 2.0 (new school), which I believe is more about stealth, creativity, clever content creation and manipulation, and covert techniques and tactics.
Afterall, once the SEs become aware of a technique or tactic that can be used to significantly affect their SERPs, they usually act and the particular technique or tactic usually becomes ineffective or much less effective. For example, consider TE, RSS-to-blog, blog-and-ping, blogger blogs for site indexing, etc, to name but a few!
