Bomb at Boston Marathon

Authorities arrest suspect in Boston bombings, source says - CNN.com

Edit:
(CNN) -- [Breaking news update at 2:36 p.m. Wednesday]
There is conflicting information as to whether someone has been arrested in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings. A federal law enforcement source told CNN's Fran Townsend that someone was arrested. But later, two senior administration officials and another federal official told Townsend that there had been a misunderstanding among officials and that no one has been arrested.

CNN video prior to their retraction, claiming a "Boston Law Enforcement" source in addition to the "Federal Law Enforcement Source". Double-sourced, so not entirely reckless reporting. Lots of talk about video analysis, image enhancement, and a "dark skinned" male.

Interesting miss on CNN's part. Wonder if they misquoted, or ?

An arrest is imminent. Far too much security video footage and photos from within the crowd + potential DNA on the backpacks and pressure cooker for an individual to vanish.

It's kind of comforting to know that over a decade after 9/11, the best these dudes can do is kill an 8 year old, a Chinese woman and some random white chick with a busted ass pressure cooker bomb. We're doing OK.

Minutes before the bombs blew up in Boston, Jeff Bauman looked into the eyes of the man who tried to kill him.

Just before 3 p.m. on April 15, Bauman was waiting among the crowd for his girlfriend to cross the finish line at the Boston Marathon. A man wearing a cap, sunglasses and a black jacket over a hooded sweatshirt looked at Jeff, 27, and dropped a bag at his feet, his brother, Chris Bauman, said in an interview.

Two and a half minutes later, the bag exploded, tearing Jeff’s legs apart. A picture of him in a wheelchair, bloodied and ashen, was broadcast around the world as he was rushed to Boston Medical Center. He lost both legs below the knee.

“He woke up under so much drugs, asked for a paper and pen and wrote, ‘bag, saw the guy, looked right at me,’” Chris Bauman said yesterday in an interview.
