Brendan Eich's resignation, your views?

I did, and if the author thinks that including a one sentence escape pod at the end of his article is going to mitigate the preceding 900 words of lunatic vitriol, he's dumber than my dog, and my dog is dead.
I thought the last line did an excellent job of clarifying the intent of the article. I'm sorry you missed it.

I love satirical articles that get people, on either side of an issue, all revved up, only to completely deflate them at the end. Of course, there will be a few people that quit reading half way through and make a fool of themselves, but that's part of the fun.

I guess I was too busy being horrified that he was instructing the readership of an extremely leftist publication to download and disseminate a list of people who had opposed gay marriage in California.

I found it ironic that no one suggested turning off javascript in protest.... This is sad what america is coming to when having an opposing opinion makes you a bigot. The kingdom is burning folks. Also ironic that the Tolerance brigade are some of the most intolerant people you've ever seen.

Oh and they should stop using javascript now too.

Agreed. If people were really offended by Mr. Eich, fuck just switching from Firefox, that's too easy. They should stop using Javascript or visiting any websites that use Javascript. After all, he might have stepped down from Mozilla but he will forever be the creator of Javascript. No half-stepping.

It's less ironic once you read the tactics of the Frankfort School (of Cultural Marxism from the 1920's) which have infested modern-day western society:

• attack the authority of the father, deny the specific roles of father and mother, and wrest away from families their rights as primary educators of their children.
• abolish differences in the education of boys and girls
• abolish all forms of male dominance - hence the presence of women in the armed forces
• declare women to be an ‘oppressed class’ and men as ‘oppressors’
Munzenberg summed up the Frankfurt School’s long-term operation thus: ‘We will make the West so corrupt that it stinks.'

For better or worse, my unconscious response to the "walk-on-eggshells" culture being foisted upon us has been to steadily increase both the severity and frequency of profanity in my day-to-day language.

I like to think I'm doing good for everyone by reminding people that if they act like cocksuckers, or cunts, or just garden variety assholes, there are still a few people around who will call them on it.

Truthfully though, people probably just think I'm an anachronistic asshole.

I am ok with that.

I have long suspected it, but this post makes it VERY clear that we are twins, somehow separated at birth.

My Bro.

And @ Brendan: So disappoint.

This was a targeted takedown. Somebody selected him for termination, then they contacted their people at OKCupid to write a little program in their website.

It was all a coordinated campaign. This was the homosexual mafia flexing their muscle and spitting in your face. Shut up about our perversions or we will take you out.

Does the mind not revolt at a situation where it is a crime to pressure someone to resign their job because of their sexual orientation, but perfectly acceptible to pressure someone to resign because of their opinions?

In a country of voters, anything goes. It's like throwing a naked, nubile, 16-year-old, fair-skinned, busty girl into a room filled with rapists.

Anything goes.

As a side note, I'm listening to Randy Rhoads lay down Crazy Train from the Tribute album. Ergo, this stuff matters not a wit to me.* :)

* other than pointing out that voters are morally or intellectually bankrupt (both in most cases)

I think it's pretty clear at this point he was aware of the lane closures and at the very least should be censured for a political act of omission. As Quentin Tarantino reminded us in his epic documentary, JFK, "it's not the act that kills you, it's the coverup, the lie."

Norman Mailer said that society took a turn for the worse when people realized they could say whatever they wanted without having to worry about getting punched in the face for it, and I agree.

So true.

I think society has also become worse from this 'mafia culture' where people band together to fight what should be other people's problems.

Whatever happened to people settling things man to man?

Now people call on the help of whatever mafia they're part of to get someone fired for expressing an opinion they don't like.
