shit, at my high school graduation people in the crowd had airhorns and shit
my sister's graduation was last week and the people in the crowd were twice as rowdy as mine. some families had like 4 or 5 airhorns with them for when their kids name got called

Rofl, I jut graduated a week ago, tons of air horns. People were throwing toilet paper at us.. it was crazy

That's just bizarre...
Our highschool did some really intellectual pranks involving hiring the billboards at the local train station and putting up quotes from 1984 and Farenheit 451, but we also did the really pedestrian shit too, like making egg catapults n what not.

Sad that kids today don't get to pull those sorts of pranks.

Yeh the terrorists won.

I'm sure their aim was for stupid high school faggots to spend 2 hours in jail. Do you think police got tough on noise because of terrorism or because of the complaints from neighbours? This would have happened anyway.

@pax .. no, their aim was to rob your freedom. Now all the sheeple are bowing to a police state. --> mission accomplished

Kind of a bad example to make a statement like that. Agreed - law and order is not always fair and can appear ridiculous at times, however it is the same "police state" that arranges for roadblocks to be set up around graduation time to prevent drunk driving. Nothing like the news of a dead carload of kids to quiet down a graduation ceremony.

Jizlobber I am obviously not talking about measures like preventing drunk driving.
But arresting people for clapping and cheering?

Agreed on the bad example. I think the guy at Heathrow not being let on a plane, because he was wearing a Tshirt with Megatron pointing a gun on it, is a much better one of how the terrorists have won...

However, the roadblocks are an example of a "nanny state", not a "police state". Frankly, it's just as bad, if not worse. That a government should intrude on your life and tell you you can't do something because it's dangerous for you... Yeah, I fucking know that, it's why I'm doing it, I need a thrill in my life so I don't end up as a bloody "Mildred Montag".

Terrorists never won.
Should be titled
Big Oil / Big Buisness have won.
Big Buisness has been trying to cut down on individual rights for the last 100 years.
Finally it appears they have almost won.

I know I come across as an US basher sometimes. With all these privacy / police state issues, trust me, I am not. I am just really, really concerned about the way this is going.

It is happening all over the world.

Corporations / Police / gubminz are using "them terrorists" as an excuse to cut down on freedom and isntall surveillance / data mining / biometrics / snitch reward programs and all the sheeple are just nodding their heads, saying "better than letting em terrorists win".

You can't fight opression, dictatorship and terrorism by giving up your freedom, people.

Now, as always, there is a duty to civil disobedience.
Whenever there is a stupid law - fight it.
Yes, you might have to face the consequences, so be it.

I'd rather be arrested for clapping and cheering at a graduation than letting them get away with shit like this.
