Bye everyone.

i know, i know. this shit is pretty popular. but the question kblessinger brought up is actually a good one. whenever i come across shit like this i always have to think of one of my friend's grandpa. whenever he watched a war movie he couldn't sleep for weeks - it just reminded him too much of all the shit he's seen (done?).

maybe this shit doesn't turn you into Patrick Bateman but i bet it doesn't help you develope a sane mind , either.

I disagree. We evolved to be fascinated by things like this (which is why a very large percentage of us are naturally fascinated by these videos). So at one point watching these types of events helped humanity survive. So I don't see a problem with it.

Look at the days of the Roman coliseum. Could you imagine how gruesome that must have been? That bitch was packed like a ballpark with people cheering on mutilations.

^^ Nice shot unarmed, although I like this version more.. if I'm ever in a standoff this'll be playing:

so what's your guys theory about all those fucked up vets ?

Honestly? The usual combat trauma combined with the lack of moral and lack of affirmation to what they're fighting for. Besides hell of a lot more disclosure since the vietnam war. Prior to that most of what people saw were romanticized, and as such didn't have as hard a time re-adjusting into a society that accepted their service.

fair enough, you're right. there has to be way more to it then just them seeing dead bodies and shit. otherwise people working in ER's and CI's would be equally fucked up.

I'm sure some paramedics, doctors (especially ER), etc run into psychological issues, even if its wondering if what they do is even worthwhile anymore. Like seeing one too many dumpster baby come thru your route. Can you imagine what an pediatric oncologist might go thru?

Also prior to Vietnam War it wasn't exactly common place to have the need to shoot children.

It's the doing shit against their better judgement that get's most. Sometimes a soldier's conscience goes directly contrary to orders given/necessary actions. At that moment they are tested at the very core and are under more pressure that you can ever know unless you were there. That's why they deserve respect. they are at the front of the whole establishment sacrificing their everything, including their sanity, for the things the rest take for granted.

E/R personel and doctors don't experience that. A good friend of mine was a n. seal, best of the best, and he battles with it daily. I have nothing but respect for him, it;s easy to shoot your mouth off and play shrink when you're not the one who had to make those choices, lived those moments or carry them for life.

Time to give this thread some purpose. Post pics of your favorite movies involving someone closed in by the cops. I'll get it going..
