I don't really understand how torrents are the answer. Sure albums are easy but what if you want to make a cd of like 15 random songs that you don't have yet, or if a friend wants you to make a cd for them and gives you a list of songs. With Limewire you could get those 15 songs searched for and downloaded in like 5 minutes or less and burned to a cd about 2 minutes after that.
( The replies stating the alternative programs that still use those kinds of networks are the answer, not torrents or even google searches. Limewire was good at what it did and the most popular, now the question is where will everyone move to next. Napster -> Kazaa -> Morpheus -> LimeWire -> ? )

why does everyone hate on limewire, torrents are a bitch to look up unless im doing it wrong.
Open up limewire and type in a song and download it. Shits fast and easy.
To do the same thing with torrents you have to go to a site, type in the song, look for seeders and if its any good before downloading. Then you have to wait till the downloads over to even test it out.
In limewire you can preview all your music while its downloading. Shits easy, but for everything else you gotta use torrents. I wouldnt even bother trying to look for software or anything else on limewire.

Shit, been a regular user of Limewire for years. Torrents/warez-bb is so annoying (and slow) if you just wanna download a single song.

Yeah thats what i mainly used it for. I still download albums via torrents, however, it doesn't make sense to down an album for one song off it... or a "single" album with 2 songs + extra shit.
I don't know about you guys, but µTorrent lets me select what I want to download before the torrent starts.
If you liked LimeWire, just download FrostWire, it is a fork of LimeWire that is still available and working.

Also, here's the best possible way to download single songs.
Go to Grooveshark - Listen to Free Music Online - Internet Radio - Free MP3 Streaming and register free. They have any song in the universe. Download Orbit Downloader and activate it to track the browsers (they have a special client for downloading the streaming media).
Search song on grooveshark, wait until Orbit recognizes the stream, click save and you are done. 30 second download!
