Call of Duty - Black Ops. Nov 9th. Anyone Gettin It?



it's pretty fun. lvl'd to 50 a week or so ago on PC.

what custom class do you guys use the most?

I like to rush a lot, so I use this setup..

PRIMARY: KIPARIS SMG with the GRIP attachment.
SECONDARY: M72 LAW
LETHAL: Frag Nade
TACTICAL: Flash Bang
EQUIP: Claymore

PERK 1: Lightweight Pro (move faster)
PERK 2: Sleight of Hand Pro (quicker reload / aim faster, this way I don't need a pistol and can use the LAW instead)
PERK 3: Marathon Pro

With this setup, at the beginning of an S&D HC match (all I play), I can rush to the best places on the map before others get there and rack up quick kills.
 
I gave it a pretty bad rap early on because of the graphics - but honestly, I'm addicted to it now... haven't touched the campaign (I almost never do)

My favorite loadout is:

M16 With Acog and Silencer
Secondary: Markov
Lethal: Frag
Secondary: Flash
Equipment: Claymore (ability to move claymores is fucking awesome btw)

PERK 1: Ghost Pro
PERK 2: Warlord Pro
PERK 3: Hacker Pro


Favorite maps are cracked/wmd/and firing range - but they're all pretty cool.
 
I'm still getting a really bad lag or maybe it's a framerate problem, where shit just get's so far behind, you get get killed before it has time to catch up. Anyone else getting this still?
 
Level 50 here too, won't be doing any of that prestige stuff. I like BO more than MW2 for sure; unlike MW2, I consistently do well. My favorite class is:

AK47 w/Silencer
Ghost Pro
Sleight of Hand Pro
Hack Pro

Killstreaks: Gunship, Napalm Strike, Chopper Gunner.

I really found this class most effective. I would say that the AK47 is the best weapon out there with a silencer, the recoil is so minimum. On every game, I basically just get into the enemies spawn and create havoc. I'm not on the radar, and not on the UAV. I get the chopper once every 2/3 games.

I had it really bad the first 24 hours.. But I guess the big part of the issue was a server-side fix that gameservers.com had to implement.

I play at 1920x1200 resolution - I turned down textures and shit to very low, improves framerates pretty decently.

Also there's some shit you can do while in game, ctrl-alt-delete and set the steam process to low priority I believe..

To help with the lag. Change your matchmaking to local. That way it will try to put you in the same party as people located around you.

How can you guys say MW2 is terrible?

CoD4 was the best, we can all agree on that. And the first time I picked up MW2 and played it...wasn't really feeling it. But after taking quite a while off, I came back a couple weeks ago and downloaded all the new maps. They pulled a lot of CoD4 maps and to me it's now almost the same game; with better graphics.

I got Black Ops and played about 2 hours of it before popping MW2 back in.

dude - by the first week or so of October - mw2 was so fucked on psn that MOH looked like a great game... I've been back 2-3x and it hasn't gotten any better with hacked rooms/tube spam/shitty connections...

I was just like you about BO though... but once you get past the graphics (which I think have been upgraded), the game itself is pretty bad ass. For example:

I've NEVER been tubed off the bat. not once.

the perks are WAY cooler and are more difficult to get... plus there's hacker pro - which is a perk that let's you take over/booby trap equipment and care packages.... many lulz to be had.

killstreaks are better

maps are better (see #1 for more details)

guns are better-ish

wage match is a cool add-on

you get more HC games/Barebones games

you can see the other fags stats



in this very thread, I blasted on the game - but, it really is fun after you get over your love for modern warfare.

BEEN HAD SPLIT TESTED GUNS/PERKS
 
I'm on PC, htsr both on Steam and in-game.. I play on EU servers, though.. I got lag on US. If anyone's in Europe/plays on EU servers, add me.

I just reset to 1st "round" of Prestige (as far as I've heard, you can reset about 15 times or so - talk about playing like a maniac).
I just got remembered how shit the first weapons are.. oh well :|
