Ok, I've run out of options here.

Has anyone had experience dealing with -Bill- for content writing? He said he did alot of SEO Milke's stuff.

The reason I am posting this is because he has been ignoring all of my messages and I gave him all different kinds of replies giving him a chance. (Content should have been done 2 weeks ago).

The money isn't so much the issue as the time lost waiting on him to deliver, which has never been done. I'm hopeful he might respond on this thread.

Again this is a last ditch effort as he has not responded to any of messages. I would never consider posting here unless all other options have been exhausted, which they have.

I am in the same boat. Sent 2 PMs and he never replied. All I asked for in my PMs was a status update on my article. How hard would it have been to quickly reply back an estimated delivery date for 1 article.

His original time frame was "a day or two to research the content matter and a day or two to write it out.". Well, that was back on 11/20 and still no word from him. And he has logged in multiple times since our initial PM so I know he is just ignoring the PMs.

hes a good guy and a long time member of this forum (under a different name) who has contributed a lot. that being said, sounds like he either has some personal problem or just got tired of being a gay content writer...

I can vouch for -bill- being a good guy too. My guess is that its a personal issue. Didn't know he had a different name before though...and ya content writing is hella gay.

It's probably a Hard Drive crash or a Death of a family member. Those are the top 2 reasons I always get for late work or lack of replies.

Something significantly increases the failure rates of computers/hard-drives when they are owned by content writers with deadlines. And if you have a family member who writers content for a living, try to convince him to change professions. Family sudden/unexplained death rates also rise when you are related to a content writer.

These are just my observations based on excuses from all of the content writers I've dealt with over the years ;)

(edit. This is nothing against -Bill- I've ordered from him before and he delivered)

Don't discredit HDD crashes and deaths... I've had times where I can muster up 2 fatal PC crashes in the same month...

Also been to 4 funerals in 08 alone.

Friends in hospitals, family and personal BS that needs to be dealt with, and even putting a project off to attempt to make money at something that isn't so shitty... It happens...

I can't say Bill is right for doing it or anything, but as a content writer, I can say that it fucking blows... ETA's are "estimates" and nothing more. Sometimes a 2 day eta becomes weeks... I'm guilty of it myself.

It's really tough to be a quality writer, or to be imaginative and in-depth, when life has you by the balls.

Also, I have had a good 4-5 instances in the past 1.5 months where a PM hasn't gone through on WF. Both in and outgoing.

Spam filters on Gmail, etc. have also caused some shit, once again, on both ends.

If he has a track record or rep, then understand that not everyone is perfect, and sometimes shit happens. It does suck, and it can fuck up a project on your end for sure, but I mean, everyone has their own shit to deal with, and there is no guarantee "Come to us, our writers NEVER deal with "life", so they can constantly churn out quality stuff" anywhere, its a 50/50 shot.

Bill, write this dude back. At least let him know you can't get it done, or that you will need more time. The worst that can happen is that he gets pissed at you for 20 minutes, and he doesn't order from you again.

It's life, and it's business, and it never works out perfectly for either parties 100% of the time.

+1

Content writing honestly sucks, but it does pay the bills and is fairly steady, and I find that it's something I'm decent at.

There have been times in the past when I've just wanted to ignore the 5 more freakin acai orders I have to work through by the next day or whatever. I've always managed to get through it, but I totally understand what it feels like to get burned out from this shit.

Or it could be something completely different, phre0n just got me on this track of thought.

I'm sure -bill- will come through one way or another and try to make things right.

Bill spoke to me around a month or two ago about having to completely reinstall his computer. he was definitely being genuine because he wasn't even doing any work for me, so didn't need an excuse.

Phre0nBurn, you just helped to prove my point I was trying to make in my last post.

Something significantly increases the failure rates of computers/hard-drives when they are owned by content writers with deadlines. And if you have a family member who writers content for a living, try to convince him to change professions. Family sudden/unexplained death rates also rise when you are related to a content writer.

How many people have 2 hard drive crashes a month and have been to 4 funerals in the last year? Not many, unless you are a content writer and not meeting deadlines.

I'm sorry if this sounds "insensitive" but it is true. Your fellow content writers are giving you all a bad name. I feel sorry for you if you have a real hard drive crash... you will have to make up another reason if you miss a delivery date because no one will believe you.

(disclaimer: this is not a personal jab a Phre0nBurn, I've never ordered content from him. just a general observation from a content buyer.)

Hahaha...

I think we should change this rule to make it read:

Rate of HDD/computer failures significantly increases when deadlines are present.

The amount of shit I have to put up with computers whenever a deadline looms is unbelievable. And I am not a content writer.

I'm in the same boat too.... I'm waiting for a fair few articles and I haven't heard from -Bill- for a couple of weeks

I'm confident he will come good though, he's had plenty of positive feedback on here so there's no reason to believe he won't

Anything could of happened for all we know, so I'm not about to start slating him over a few articles..

Just to make you guys feel better, I completed a wordpress site with customized theme and paid membership options with content and training for a noob, came in on time and 25% under budget and haven't gotten paid even though I sent him an invoice 6 weeks ago.

He's godfather to my one of my kids and my wife adores his kids so I can't kill him.

Not whining... okay just a little... but hopefully you guys feel better.

Bitchin' site I made too. People sign up for memberships to see his posts (if he ever gets around to writing them) and sign-up is fully automated.

Okay, now I'm bragging... ...and hijacking. thxg'bye
