Can we get a shoutbox?

I think they look horrible if people don't actually style them.. you don't have to use double inset borders, big 18px font, and obnoxious colored usernames... you could instead make the whole thing look very subtle, i.e rounded edges, crisp and clean fonts, more aesthetically pleasing. Plus, it doesn't have to be at the top, it could be at the bottom lol

There are lots of reasons we don't like chatrooms. For one, they are the opposite of forums.

Looking at the whole "shooting the shit" section at the moment, which is full of spam threads, could obviously imply why not having a shoutbox could be so peaceful for mind and soul...

This is actually not a bad idea either. But I still can't see any overwhelming reason why a shoutbox is a bad idea. Someone mentioned that only a few people would talk in it, I disagree, I think a shoutbox if anything would stimulate a lot more involvement and constructive conversation. Of course you would have nonsense to deal with, just like you do with regular threads. Overall though, it would do much more good than harm.
