CDC confirms first Ebola case diagnosed in the United States

U.S. Ebola case: Fear, frustration grow as patients' contacts monitored

Dallas (CNN) -- America's first diagnosed Ebola victim is contained, but three things are still spreading: fear, frustration and the search for his contacts.

While Thomas Eric Duncan remains in serious but stable condition at a Dallas hospital, some parents are scared to take their kids to the schools that his girlfriend's children attended.

Others are upset at the hospital where Duncan first sought care, which sent him home and raised the possibility he could infect others for at least two additional days.

As the search continues for those Duncan had contact with, here's the latest on how the case is affecting others:

'I just got scared'

Duncan was in Dallas visiting his girlfriend, Liberian community leader Stanley Gaye said.

Among the people he encountered: his girlfriend's five children, Gaye said.
sheesh...let's just hope none of his contacts contract the disease. hmmm..his GF. had sex with her and exchanged bodily fluids? geesh.:uhoh2:

Don't worry a month ago Osama said it was unlikely there would be a single case. I pray to Alla/god/Jesus/Buddha this doesn't spread like wild fire.

How can thy say not to worry it only spreads via fluids. Are there fluids in a sneeze? How is it The US has been Ebola free for 20 years, then they start talking about it 2 months ago (dismissing it) and now it's about to turn into a constitutional chrisis?

Awhile ago I read a lot about ebola, and it was always spread by some dumb shit like a clinic using the same needle on everyone, or like a sick person swimming in the drinking water.

They said that it wasn't very contagious due to the need to actually touch the person or the fluids.

But now we have all these American doctors catching it in Africa. I am assuming they brought gear with them, and they are definitely educated on how it gets passed from person to person.

Yet numerous of these health care people have caught it.

Make me wonder if its a bit more contagious then they originally thought, or its mutated to be.

whatever I dont have time for ebola. I have work to do.

One of the reasons ebola is hard to contain in africa is because caretakers don't often have access to medical gloves. I don't see medical gloves in that image either.

I'm sure running water helps too.. washing hands often can go a long way to preventing infections.

I'm surprised how many experts on infectious diseases there are on WF.

I know, right? If there were only a magic contraption that I could simply type in a question or search information to virtually any problem ever presented and voila, there it is. Awe, the future yo.

Obama gives a speech in regards to Ebola outbreak at the UN, and a week later, it arrives here.

All of a sudden, CNN doesn't give a shit about the wars going on and they are spending almost all of their time on Ebola. Pathetic as fuck.

The minute this started, they should have imposed an international quarantine on any country with infected individuals by implementing a flight blackout to and from those countries.

Who is they? Not every country is going to do something because the United Nations tells them to.

What if the USA blocks flights but Canada and Mexico do not? Banning travel to and from those places would have huge economic impact and there would still be people finding ways to walk across.

The "free market" has already made travel to and from the infected regions more difficult :

Ebola Supplies Sit as Airlines Cancel Flights to Countries With Infection

Of course it was an African American - Liberia being the nation freed slaves - who brought this to the US. Liberia, the worst country on earth, home of freed African Americans, now finally will get their revenge for slavery.

God damn nigga lied about being exposed to Ebola.

“He lied on his form,” Mr. Kesselly said. “If he had answered truthfully, he would have been sent to secondary screening immediately and not allowed to leave.”

This is what open borders gets you people. Bunch of savages who would rather risk the entire USA for selfish reasons.

Every few years there's some kind of ridiculous disease coming out that is supposed to be the next black plague.

SARS, Avian Flu, now Ebola.

He's not an African American. He's a Liberian with a sister that happens to live in the US who he was coming to visit.

Liberians are African Americans. The country is founded by freed slaves from the US. It is now the worst shithole in the world, home to General Buttnaked and cannibalism.

Liberians are African Americans.

Liberia population = over 4,000,000
Americo-Liberians = up to 200,000

"Between 1847 and 1980, the state of Liberia was dominated by the small minority of black colonists and their offspring, known collectively as Americo-Liberians. The Americo-Liberian minority, many of whom were mulattos or Afro-Americans, were generally richer than the indigenous people of Liberia and exercised overwhelming political power."
