The only good idea thus far was to make sure that noobs post X number of times before they can start a thread. Maybe make it so if a post get's down voted X amount of times by members with X or more posts that it will be marked as spam. I don't know, it's not as easy as it sounds.

This site (and the culture of it) spawned after Jon's thread on another forum and should memory serve correct, him not getting paid appropriately.
At that time it was a break from the norm, and in some ways needed. Things have changed and evolved. Certain behaviors can be acceptable at times, but are no longer needed. Definitely not needed everywhere. WF can evolve further. The initial run and rebellion behind the feel and mood of the site was we are in this together. So we won't get screwed by the big guys and big corporations. Not just, we're rebellious, lawless bad asses who only look out for ourselves.
Now some here ARE the big guys and the corporations. And sadly, they only look out for themselves.
The attitude or purpose of the site wasn't and isn't about porn or STS. If that is your focus, for or against, you are really missing the point of this thread. The rebellion attitude so many are touting was "transparency", willingness to do what others would not do, going to bat for the right causes and the benefit of the whole. That whole being, the immediate group here at WF and as a result where applicable, the other affiliates and companies in the industry.
Working together, helping each other here and moving mountains in the process. But the fake accounts, fake iTrades, fake reviews, fake case studies, kick backs, revealing campaigns, contrived grievances, super trolling, it's just too much to list. It would be good to see some of it reduced and some even stopped. Because any thread at any given time can be derailed into religion, racism, class-ism, politics, dick rolls, trolling, etc. It's really boring and is not at all what the site is about.
Wish mods would stop being "cool" and moderate in a way so that more useful information can be shared and more legitimate business can be done across the entire board. Not just with people inside the various circles of mutual benefit. Actually moderate, the majority of the time they are here. Not just hang out, make connections and be premium. Move threads to where they belong. Keep topics on topic and encourage people to have their confrontations, other topics and circle jerks elsewhere. In PM's, IM, on the phone, wherever just not on the boards.
So yes, change some things. Evolve. Grow up. The site will still be cool. Porn can be in an appropriate section, let the rest of the site be the business of affiliate marketing. Not having random triple X images pop up on the screen is NOT going to make Wickedfire like any other forum. Speaking of which, the other forums may be crowded, may be full of newbies, may be full of whatever you may not like, but the one thing they are full of is people sharing information, concepts and ideas, and looking to make money.
Oh and an ignore user feature would be good. It's on quite a few forums. Don't think it is here though. And a way to block all threads with boobs or NSFW in preferences.
Also, +1 on post count before thread starting. Some boards do post count and time period before allowing thread starting or even opening certains areas for access.
Don't see tons of people rushing to join, no tons of advertising so there is really no need for massive serp results. Why not just make the board private with invite only access? That way people have to bear more responsibility of who they invite or what they do. But most importantly it reduces all tons of spamesque type issues.
Anyway thanks for opening this thread up. It is good to read the various opinions about the handling of WF. It is a great forum with lots of good people and ideas, but there is room for improvement to make it even greater.

This will solve so much of the newbie/BS questions from being posted in the main forums. It will boost the quality of the forums a lot.

It's not, the biggest fail is noobs posting a thread asking "how can i make moniez right now with zero work" before using the Search function, or reading up any of the stickies. The Newbie Questions forum is there because most people are NOT newbies.
