Any recommendations for a live chat script? It can not be a hosted service, and I must be able to host the central chat server on my own hosting. It can be free or paid, but I need to have access to the source code. Or if it's encoded, it must have an amazing API allowing me to do what I need.
Basically, want to throw a "Live Chat" icon in the admin panel of my software products that's staffed 24x7. The caveat is, I need full control over those chats, including what my techs see. When a customer initiates a chat, it needs to also pass their license ID# to the chat server, so when the tech enters the chat, full details on the license and customer account are sitting in front of them. I also need to log all chats in my own system under that customer's account, so we have a record of all communication.
And I'm just really not in the mood to develop an entire chat system by myself. I'm guessing something open source that I can modify the hell out of would be best, but not sure. Any suggestions? Things like LivePerson won't work at all for this.
