By signing up 50 people in that class, Jerry Yang has effectively doubled Yahoo's reach.

My point is, I bet they're all using Google for their campaigns - lol. At least, while not in the office.

man, times sure do change. When I was in college all they had were stupid shit like JCL and COBOL. Needless to say, college courses back a FEW years ago were worthless.

i want to but, i'm already taking enough credits. i might sit in on some classes if i can find time, though
See if you can audit the class, or just sit in with the instructors' permission. Some of the most useful classes I took in college were taught by adjunct professors who actually worked in the area that they taught. People can knock Yahoo all they want, but learning the intricacies of how algorithms and details work behind the 2nd largest search firm (or just in general) out there has to be valuable.

For those who aren't aware - Yahoo and their ad networks still have a larger unique visitor reach per month than Google/DoubleClick, only behind Platform-A/AOL/Advertising.com . The few people who I've known who have worked at Yahoo in the past have been pretty bright people. Just because Yahoo is second to Google in search doesn't imply that you should discount their total media reach or the talent that they employ.
