Is it the same singer as rage against the machine? They sound very much alike,

Sorry for the late reply (hahaha)
Nope, the rapper/screamer in the band is Ali Tabatabaee (an Iranian Dude), but you're right he sounds a bit like Zach de la Rocha (Rage Against the Machine).
They were discovered by producer Glen Ballard (who is most known for breaking Alanis Morressette and her debut album).
Basically they threw all their different influences together (pop, punk, hip-hop,ska etc.) and did what came naturally to them which gave them a pretty unique sound. And they tried to keep it upbeat and positive for the most part with tongue-in-cheek-humour.
So you have Ali's harder edged rap style blended with singer Justin Maureillo's smoother pop tone. Ali bringing the rage and intensity and Justin cooling it down with melody. Pretty cool dynamic - and that's what their fans dug about them.
But, as with a lot of lead singers, Justin pulled a "I want to expand my creative horizons" (he wanted to go more alternative/retro melodic and the other members wanted to keep heading in the rock direction) and quit the band just as they were beggining to really take off. Needless to say, their avid fans hated the guy for fucking up a good thing. And, as almost always, his solo stuff was pretty much horseshit - (still finding his sound is what it is).
ZH's manager found another singer from an upcoming band and they continued to have more success without Justin -- although a lot of the early energy and chemistry is a little lost, but they stayed to their trademark formula, and went a bit more straight forward rock.
Anyway... whenever I'm in a crappy mood, anything from the first 4 records snaps me out of it. The band had chemistry.
Anyhoo..... ZH 101, hahaha.....
Here's another one from Waste of Mind - Time
