Chicago Police to Airbnb Host: No Whites in Black Neighborhoods, Please

Have you ever seen the Englewood neighborhood? I drove through it for long enough to know that Church's chicken and White Castle, while novel ideas, aren't worth my risking safety or losing my car over.

Shit Lakewood, Engelwood, Compton are all rough.

I'm driving through Lakewood one day when we had stores in Lakewood Mall and had a car full of brothers stalking my audi.

But the best joke of all is USC being in the heart of Compton.

Tell me about it. I was attending USC when the Rodney King riots happened.

BTW, I think it's Inglewood, not Englewood if you are talking about the city near L.A.

Englewood is scary...I lived 2 neighborhoods over in Hyde Park while going to school and that was bad enough. Anything "across the boulevards" was just asking for trouble if you were white and relatively clean cut. Still, it's up to the person booking the room to check out the neighborhood and any relevant crime statistics if they care.

I'm more curious about the fact that she recorded the police, though - that was not a good idea at all. Illinois has some pretty horrific laws when it comes to recording police.

It's Englewood. It's a neighborhood, not a town, but it's probably the roughest in the city. If I ever visit Chicago again I will NOT stop at a red light in that area.

Me and my dad ended up in the area, lost, and knew it was a really rough area. Luckily some cops pulled up next to us and laughed when I asked them how to get back to our hotel.

I was in town for SES waiting for a cab just north of McCormick place and the police in a paddy wagon actually stopped and asked me if I'm lost. LOL

This is a good idea really. Those areas are freaking scary and they'll rob you blind instantly if given the opportunity. I lived in the area next to USC and the first 20 minutes I was there as a welcome party some guys ran in my place and stole my laptop, phone etc. Was nice not knowing anyone moving to a new state and have your phone stolen immediately. Also had a drug addict living under my apartment. People should be warned before they head to that area if they still want to go then let them.
