You're selling a client leads and they want to know where you're advertising. Is it okay to tell them you don't reveal that info or should you be upfront with them if it's something as well-known as Facebook?

Sounds like they might be looking to cut you out, my first instinct.

Edit: They'll fail if they try, but then again they might be just curious if your leads are really good. I usually tell them from the internet. I also won't out the exact site, I would state several large portals not throwing in the exact one you are using.

Tell them e-harmony, then laugh. Then tell them listen, I am the master of the internet like a fisherman is the master of the ocean. I create many fishing vessels and some catch fish and some dont. Some need to sit still and create trust among the fish, then they become profitable. But to ask where clients come from is like asking Tuna dot com(from the show) where his blue fin tuna comes from, he will say the ocean, and ill tell you the internet.

nice

This is like those annoying "affiliate managers" that bug me about how I'm marketing
my website... I simply tell them I do not discuss my website marketing methods.
Usually that ends the conversation.

10/10 would read again

Next time asked that question, simply laugh hysterically. Then why the laughter starts to fade tell them." I dont tell my mom where my leads come from" and that will be the end of it.

tell them u had your sources stolen before so u wont mention them.

You can't say that. It will insult their integrity. Calling someone a thief is a sure fire way to end a relationship. I deal with this type of question at least once a week. Trust me my method is fool proof. That is as long as you don't fuck it up and do it wrong.

This is fairly genius.

^ = how to deal with the situation if you don't like having people to sell leads to, cas after implying a client is potentially a thief, you won't have a client.

+rep, that's awesome, I can apply that to so many questions I'm fielded.

"The online multiplier is 10 months whereas the the multiplier in real life is 20 years. This means that an ad campaign will go through introduction, growth, maturity, and decline faster than an ad campaign IRL. For this reason, I can tell you what is working _now_ but it might not be where you'll be getting leads tomorrow and it probably won't be where you're getting leads 4 weeks from now."

The tuna one is good as well.

Do any of you also refuse to allow the client to look at the landing page?

"Are the leads backing out?"
If yes, then "So don't ask questions and give me a pay bump"

If no, then "Why not? What makes a quality lead? How can I pre-qualify better for you?"

If it's still causing issues "Please decrease my payout to where this works for you. Do not scrub me, I will notice, and you will fuck up my stats"

I had to come back to nominate this WF's best 2013 post. The tuna lol

I sometimes show my lps depends on the company I'm dealing with. For 99% cpa networks I don't discuss my marketing in detail, especially places with high AM turnover. However with bigger brands I'm more transparent to get their trust
