Have you actually looked up the products that are being pushed on his show? Some are rebills and other scams. Sure, people who sign up for rebills are stupid but if you think someone who pushes rebills is a good source for news, you are a fucking idiot as well.
I use to listen to him most days from early 2001 until around 2005-2006. Over time, you start to hear a lot of facts being distorted when it comes to issues that you have better understand of than AJ himself. I heard him making shit up about some stories in the Australian media at the time which I knew simply wasn't true. When I called him up in air, he called me a disinfo agent and explained to listeners this is what he is up against; all because I questioned his distorting of the story.
Sure, he doesn't screen calls but he doesn't need to! You simply don't get the opportunity to voice your opinion or ask a question without him putting you on hold or interrupting you.
AJ isn't stupid.. it's all a clever act to push his products and those of his sponsors. He puts the onus of fact checking on the listener knowing 95% of people will just take his word for it and never bother.
The man has a huge ego and hates on Wikileaks, OWS etc because he isn't front, stage and centre of attention for those movements - therefore, he calls him psyops and accuses people of being scared to come on his show because he will out them with his version of the truth which is often nothing more than conjecture. If you don't acknowledge his request to come on or decline, he will call you a disinfo agent or some other shit.
There is very little fact checking that goes into what AJ prints, says and produces. I'll grant you that he is captivating to listen to which is why he has done so well but don't think for a moment he is as altruistic as he says he is. The amount of bullshit he says is astounding.
Another, more recent example - he keeps saying he wants people to sign up to his "newsletter" so that if the government shuts down his website (yeah, whatever) he will still be able to contact them when it's nothing more than email marketing. People fall for this bullshit and then he bitches on air that their receive rate has been bad because people have been reporting it as spam instead of unsubscribing.
