Whilst this story has a positive outcome, for every story like this, there's another about someone that accidentally shot a drunk spouse, stupid kid, or Bill Murray playing a prank.
824 Accidental Gun deaths were reported in the US last year. Over 18,000 assassination happened. Get your facts straight before you go around pushing stupid propaganda... your normally a pretty good poster, but that post was just plain fucking wrong... and stupid.
Only 824 Accidental Gun deaths? Wow, that's awesome!
P.S. people who accidentally shoot each other is not necessarily a bad thing. With such ease of survival, darwin has to kick in at some point or another, least we end up living in an Idiocracy
That was intense. Makes me wish we could own guns where I live.
That's sad...lucky lady
if this was in oregon she would have gotten 15 years for manslaughter under measure 40.
True Story:
about 15 years ago we had this douche bag governor in Oregon and he wrote measure 40. Then there was a ton of commercials on tv all the time saying simply "Vote yes on measure 40 its tough on crime." The idiotic old people didn't even read the ballot or knew anything about it and voted it in not knowing it didn't actually increase minimum sentences for criminals but really redefined who the criminals were and basically got rid of self defense laws in oregon.
About 8 years ago this guy i worked with at the mill who woke up to someone breaking into his house. The robber had a gun. He managed to disarm the robber and got him to the ground. He then tied him up with a lamp cord and dragged him outside and layed him on the lawn and waited for the cops to arrive. When they finally got there they arrested both of them. The robber got 6 months in jail for burglary and he got 2 years in prison for assault. It sucked ass he was a really cool guy.
Heartbreaking situation for this woman, but I'm glad she defended herself instead of ending up a victim.
I got an email from a friend who is a Cpt in the USMC stationed in northern Iraq a year ago asking for me to rush a special kind of holster (that wouldn't ship to APO/FPO addresses). I asked why he needed this particular kind, and he answered that it was concealable and didn't have an extra guard on it.
And that he'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by six.
Needless to say- I got him the holster.
That's intense.
Could she have at least yelled, "I have a gun!"?
Oh well, I own two shotties myself and I'd shoot too.
I'd probably shoot him in the legs or something though, I'd injure him enough so he couldn't do shit, but not die...
Anyway, he'd get a load of buckshot.
