Da Blizzard

Getting our share of snow here in Maine. Lost sight of the edge of my driveway plowing and buried her down to the axle. That was a few storms and 16 inches ago. Expecting another 18 inches possibly today. Running out of room to put it all. Fuck it - we'll be snowmobiling into April FTW.

I just snapped the upper nose piece on my A frame in half, broke the welds loose on the lower nose piece, and tore the left PA bracket off the moldingboard. Good fucking times!

We were kinda like that last month^^^

The snow storm right after christmas wrecked central / south jersey. The wind made it impossible to keep the roads plowed. That and idiot drivers getting stuck, I should say. Then there was like 2 feet in most places with drifts up to 6 or 8 feet. Most roads were plowed just enough for 1 car to get down and a lot of the highways were cut down to 1 or 2 lanes in each direction...That is, two days after the storm was over. The day right after the storm it was not really possible to go anywhere.

I live in Duluth, MN, and it's -6 F with 1-2 inches of snow every night. School isn't cancelled unless freezing rain covers the roads so bad that the buses are unable to get up the hills.

The rest of the US just sounds really whiny to me.

How So? Most of the country does not have to prepare for situations like this most of the time. Just like you're neighborhood would probably go crazy if it was 115 degrees outside, but people in arizona survive that like it's nothing...You probably have proper snow removal equipment, and studded / chained tires.

I'm in Maine, where getting hammered right now. Can't wait to go snowmobiling...YYUUZZZZ!

The official total here in OKC was 12.1 inches. Probably not much compared to you E/NE peeps, but we are just not equipped to handle that kind of volume. We have a total of about 40 snow trucks/plows compared to the hundreds in a city like Chicago.

Just spent about 4 hours shoveling snow from variuos drives and from getting people un-stuck

Wednesday So Cal Update:

It was a little breezy today, so I wore a long sleeve shirt. But then you know how when you get in the warm sun and it gets a little stuffy? well, I rolled up my sleeves and that seemed to do it.

Passed a group of people heading out to a surf lesson too. Pretty decent day.

This SoCal/Florida shit is getting pretty old, people.

The thread is named "Da Blizzard." -Not, "Tropical Paridise."

Trust me, we KNOW we signed up for snow and the frostbitten torchure that comes with it when we moved here. Some people actually prefer it for some reason, others like myself just think of it as the price of living somewhere that doesn't cost 2 arms and 3 legs each month, like, ahem, SoCal does.

I grew up in Buffalo. I lived in Miluakee, NYC, and Connecticut.

I earned the right to express how nice it is here in San Diego.

Enjoy your blizzard bitches. ;)
