Dehydrator Thread!

Hey guys, I'm buying a dehydrator next :)

With the pulp that I'm getting from my juicer, apparently I can mix in some spices and dehydrate them to make veggie chips. Can also make some flax seed chips and of course... beef jerky.

Done some research and it looks like the Excalibur series is the best choice. Gonna buy the new 3xxx series for the 10 year warranty.

Anyone got some good recipes or cool stuff that you dehydrate?

Bananas cut in half lengthwise are really good. I just got one for christmas and am waiting for the fresh produce when it warms up.

I was thinking a puree on wax paper would make fruit leathers, like apple+squeeze of orange/lemon+cranberries. I like dried strawberries and just about any fruit.
 
Have you read the Tucker Max book Assholes Finish First? It's fucking hilarious. Google "tucker max juicer story" and the whole eBook is like the 5th link down. Just ctrl+f the word "juicer" and start reading.

I'm good friends with "Hate" from Tucker's books. The times I've been out with Tucker he's the same as he is in the books. Knowing all the guys he writes about makes the stories twice as funny. Definitely worth picking them up.
