dems to use national id card as answer to illegal immigration

hmm that ron paul video he says that the id's might have gps in them which doesnt make sense because it would also need a battery and shit and a way to connect to a cellphone tower or something to transmit your every position to the govt.
i agree with him though that this will open up tons of possibilities to mandatorily keep info on people in one place that should be private and getting a job/bank account/health care/make transactions based on the database info would make it easy to deny you. think japanese americans 1942 there might be a database column to check if you are on a list and if so you wouldnt be able to buy anything etc.

EDIT: Also - http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/reuters/100430/entertainment/centertainment_us_mcfarlane_immigration

"It's too much. It's kind of a slap in the face, it's not the way to handle it...Nobody but the Nazis ever asked anybody for their papers," MacFarlane told Reuters Television...

I don't see how the government would want/need to record the location of every single American everywhere. Why would they give a fuck about knowing if you're at walmart or at the zoo?

If they REALLY wanted to track your every move, any cell phone has this capability and practically everybody has them. Hell, I got my grandmother a cell phone so she'd be easier to get ahold of and at any moment I can pull up her exact location on google maps through my provider (came in handy when she misplaced her purse).

mike you need to get your brain together. ID cards work. I dont see why you guys seem to think something like this is so 1984. On the one side you guys want to get rid of illegal imigrants but on the other side you dont want to have ID's. fucking pick your sides

You guys are complete idiots. The US is already "1984". Jost look at the patriot act. It's worthless and serves only to supervise american people.

It amazes me how you guys get mad at some very simple and effective method like this. Yet accept bush and obama saying that they don't want to have the "american way of life" destroyed after every successful or unsuccessful terrorist attack (But at the same time, they use those attacks as a reason to imply more and more "security" measures that are worthless and actually destroy the american "free" way of life).

We already have ID cards in the form of State ID's, ID's issued for drivers license, and passports, why the fuck do we need another one?

lol when have i ever said i accept bush / osama? i have always been 100% against the patriot act all the way. also, i never said we "need to get rid of illegals." i'm down for some sort of fair amnesty program... while at the same time deporting all of the dangerous/criminal illegals who cause problems and ultimately cost taxpayers money by sitting in jail cells paid by us. there are better ways to deal with this problem then by just kicking everyone out. my main point being was that our government (by its very nature always growing in power and scope) uses these sorts of issues to establish a more authoritarian regime, tricking the masses of taxpayers (who are, for the most part, brainwashed by the media) to approve such measures.
