Last night I received a DMCA complaint about one of my sites, that links to slightly dodgy multiplayer game servers that do infringe on copyright.
My question is how good a case to they have? is it illegal to link to a website that infringes on copyright? seems a bit odd, since Google links to them in their search results too. Is Google just too big to attack?
They claim section 512(d) of the DMCA states that you cannot link to websites that infringe on copyright.
Also they want an answer within 24 hours, but that's a bit short, how much time do they normally have?
It also brings up the classic case of torrent sites, that also just link to things rather than actually doing "wrong"
Any ideas/feedback/knowledge is welcome.
