Like many OP answered here, you need to test them first. But if you already did PPC for a while and turned good on your campaigns, i guess you should go on this road.

SEO has changed a lot lately, and what used to work before, now is not. Also to drive traffic from organic source you need flawless content, relevant links, and if you have some free time you can try it, because if you hire someone to get you backlinks on sites that aren't build for the purpose to manipulate ranks, will turn expensive.

Though - one thing lead to another. Many great business were sold after some positive and great campaigns. For example bright.com, is one of them. A great idea and a great way that the guys advertise it. You can check the news press section. I guess you will understand my point, and how this guys sold the site to linkedin for 170 Million Dollars.

This is a great idea + motivation + advertise + optimization.
