Do you guys listen to Jazz?

While I like the standards like Coltrane, M Davis, etc., I've always been into the guitar jazz like Wes Montgomery and even some of the newer players like Norman Brown, Joyce Cooling, Peter White, Larry Carlton. I went through my jazz phase as a guitar player and got a Gibson ES335, but it never stuck. I enjoy listening to it now and then. I like the musicianship and creativity that jazz brings. Some great examples posted above. Reminded me of a few artists I hadn't heard in a while.

If you don't already know of it, you should check out the soundtrack to the movie The Hot Spot: a John Lee Hooker, Miles Davis and Taj Mahal collaboration. If you like blues and jazz you should enjoy it.

I've been getting into jazz a bit lately.

The way I'm getting artists is by virtual digging in he crates. I listen to hp hop and I look for the sample which are usually jazz based. I have found Ahmad Jamal, Vic Juris and John Coltrane so far.

I love golden era hiphop as well so digging the original jazz joints is always a pleasure.
