Does the word "network" frighten you away when it's introduced to you?

Guys, does the word "network" frighten you away as a publisher/media buyer when it's first time introduced to you?
Would you react better and trust more if you meet a rep from "marketing agency"/"affiliate platform"/"user acquisition solutions"/whatever/ and you know that you actually deal with an affiliate network?

On condition that you hear of the network for the first time and don't know anything about it.

The problem is there are so many ad networks doing cold call emailing making huge promises that people aren't "afraid," they're skeptical. So skeptical they assume it might not be worth their time.

A better approach would be to provide specific ways, optimizations, and offers that would play well on my site - upfront.
