Does this annoy anyone else?

My wife brought it to my attention last month when I texted her and said "of coarse" > ; < that im an iddiot.

Of course I am.

Ive been typing that in emails to clients and all kinds of shit for 20 years or so. Fuck em if they cant take a joke....

WF is rampant with grammar nazi's; with all the hate I had to start improving my grammar.

These guys will jump on you for "your", which is easily confused with you're; and just try to use "their", when you really mean there; or heaven forbid you indent your type.

English only on the forum; I know it's hard, but we all could try a little harder.

Edit: The OatmealGrammar Comics

I don't jump down people's throats about it. It doesn't particularly annoy me, but it's really not difficult to learn how to use English correctly when it's your first language!

To be fair - I shouldn't really shout as my grammar in French is completely fucked, but in English I flinch whenever I read something I've written something and spot a horrible grammar mistake in it.
There is however one mistake which is just plain rubbish: When people say "should of" instead of "should have", "would of" instead of "would have". It actually doesn't make sense. At all.

Choose any phrase or sentence with either the word "of" or "have" in it, and replace the word with the other. Does it make sense?

"Lord have the rings"
"Of a nice day"
"Where of you been lately?"
"What of you been doing?"
"Have course I'll do that"

etc.

No i agree. When I see something like that though, i'll be the asshole that says "if it's loose then you should have tightened it up" or "its loose cus you got fucked too hard, too many times" :zzwhip:

Spending time and energy on something like this is for loosers.

Honestly.

I try to limit my attachement to these "nuisances" as much as possible. It takes away too much mental capacity i need to retain in order to actually DO STUFF. But i see as most people seem to get riled up by minor things, learning how to control your senseless anger is a form of competitive advantage.

I aint loosing any sleep over that. Its there problem if they cant spell. It aint mean that there better than you. It just mean that your more anal in grammar.

could of/would of/should of

annoys the fuck out of me

Fuck grammer, when you pull out in front of me while talking on your cell fucking phone you should die,,, better yet riding your fucking motorcycle talking on your phone and then have the balls to say " watch out motorcycles are everywhere " ... motherfucker my car weighs four times as much as your motorcycle so watch the fuck out for me !!!!!!!!
