Na, you can put together a 10m or less sub for less than 75k. That's US, prolly cheaper in Columbia.

Do you build toy subs as a hobby or something?

TIME said they were "relatively" cheap to build. Makes me wonder.

I doubt it cost millions. They can only descend to 30feet.

There was a Discovery channel special on these subs a couple months ago. The reporters on there were saying at minimum a million to build. They sure don't look like much, but if they get the job done, then props to the narco-traffickers.
