I am getting tired of organizing my bookmarks via the 'organize favorites' feature of IE... is there a good, free way to organize your bookmarks in a way that you can then upload them back to your favorites list?

Thanks guys - I must have added hundreds of new bookmarks since joining here!

alternatively, you can do it the primitive way and setup a bookmark.html page somewhere on your desktop, and set it as your homepage.

then put the links you want on that.

so you'd have lots of real estate and you can group your bookmarks by category.

the other option is to use stumbleupon and stumble everything you like.

though i think the optimum number of the bookmarks on a social bookmarking site for me seems to be about 30-50.

If you have 500-1000 bookmarks, you need something more robust.

i'd even go as far as setting up a bookmark-index.html file and have links to seo-bookmarks.html, traffic-generation-bookmarks.html, etc.

do what works for you.

That was pretty much my intent with ifaves, to be able to easily add bookmarks, tag them (or categorize, if you prefer), choose which categories show up on the homepage, and be able to automatically organize which ones appear first based on how often I use them, and set the whole thing as my browser homepage. Social bookmarking sites pretty much suck at actual useable personal bookmarking, IMO.

I'll be really honest. I don't think Del.ici.ous is the answer the the bookmark problem. I don't think the problem has a solution yet. While Del.ici.ous is sure doing a good job. Its not what i'm looking for/doesn't make my life easier.

You've tried the FireFox/del.icio.us plug-in I mentioned? (the one that totally replaces the FireFox bookmarks system)

If you have I'm curious what specific bookmark problems you have left.

I have just over 1000 bookmarks and navigating & organizing them has become lightning-fast since migrating to this. The few bookmarks issues I have left are pretty nit-picky.
