Electric razor or blade?

I use that super pricey one from Braun. Shit is no joke. Its actually the smoothest shave ever, except that the buzzing sound is kinda loud and irritating. Aside for that, amazing shave.

+1 for pricey Brauns.

Norelcos have been crappy lately. Even though Norelco's 3 heads look more appealing, Braun is stronger and gives a better shave.

Any recommendations for something to just keep my scruff? I hate fully shaving, and I don't want any mega facial hair.

I like looking like I haven't shaven in a day, I typically just use a side burns trimmer but it never feels like it's the best solution.

I use this on the closest setting

I googled "super pricey one from Braun" but got nothing. :P What's the series?

Blades only. I am satisfied with them so I never at least once tried electric razor. I can only assume that it does not shave as clean as blades.

I have this thing:

A few years back I went out to grab a hair shaver kit (been doing my own since I can remember), and yeah yeah a shiny toy caught my eye, I've been bouncing back/forth between blade and electric myself so I plopped $380 or so for the thing.

It's NOTHING MORE THAN A TOY. The thing sits in it's container, does tricks (while it cleans it moves up/down/turns on/off - yay).

Does and absolutely SHIT job shaving if you are past 3 days (in my case). So now it's turned into a fucking mess - I shave excess beard/facial hair with my hairclip shaver, then move in with the electric, then finalize with a blade.

Moral of the review: Don't buy it.

Series 7 790cc. I also got a family sized pack of that self cleaning solution, you don't need it. I've used a whole 1 so far and its been a year now.

But then again, I haven't been doing much shaving this year heh.

@ Papajohn, get a Feather to start with. Wicked sharp, good shaves and you don't have the maintenance of a traditional straight. If you still want a traditional straight razor, Thiers Issards are the best on the planet.

The Feather "No-Sharpen" Straight Razor
Thiers-Issard Straight Razors

@cougarclaws - Merkur with Feather blades and a badger hair brush. I gave up on straights after shaving with a Merkur armed with Feathers. Just as smooth as my straights and way less upkeep. Plus, super cheap shaves. $30 for the handle, and $6.95 for 10 blades. Or if you want to go SUPER cheap, get Derby Extra's for $8.95 per 100 blades. :D Derby's are okay, but Feather's are worth the extra.

Where's kblessinger?

Tip : Dry blades with a towel after use. This makes them last a lot longer than you would think.

I read on a blog once that running the new school style blade (mach-3, quatro, etc) backwards over denim after use helps keep it sharp. I've always wanted to get my hands on a microscope and see to what, if any, extent this really works.

Gillette Sensor FTW. Works good on pussy too. If you want to pimp it out a bit:

Thanks for supporting Robert Kraft and the New England Patriots!

^ This, the merkur safety razer, is the bitchin'-est shave you can get without taking a straight razer to your face. I've tried cheap razers, pricey razers, manual, electric and gas powered(*), but I prefer this to anything a "big brand" has to offer.

ONE FUCKING STROKE, and I was a life-long convert (can't even say that about my fleshlight)

I'll never pay for overpriced blades again. Turbo, if you love your man, free him from the rebill prison of conventional shave-ology.

(* no, i have not really tried a gas powered razer)

I'm with all the other wet shavers here.

Merkur HD with some Nancy Boy shave cream. My wife will actually kiss my ugly mug when I shave with this cause it gets it soo close and smooth.

Cool I wonder if it would work as well on the legs (for me, of course, not hubby) Actually he has a beard and is looking for a good beard trimmer (sorry if i wasn't clear) but he still shaves below the beard and that thing looks sweet. Maybe I'll do a 1,2 combo gift.
