England vs USA

lol @ the hype over this game. easy 2-0 win to England imo, ease into the first game.

It's all good. The English can have Soccer. We still beat them in Football, Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, Volleyball, War...

Football, Cricket, Rugby, F1, Snooker? England are better at all those and most of these have a larger worldwide following than Basketball, Baseball etc.

I want USA to win only because those shitty-teeth-motherfuckers intentionally lost against Ukraine just to kick us Croats out of the further qualifications. Anyone can loose a game and kick other team out, it takes a great team to kick someone by beating them on their own turf...

However, I'll bet on England. At least I'll have some cash to get hammered and cry it all out...

I'm driving to my mates in Essex for this. Hopefully nice weather and we can get the barbie on the go and get shitted.

The US are definately an improving team and I expect them to do well, just not against us. Although the way we've been playing we ain't done fuck of late to show we can push on into the latter stages.

Who knows? It'll be fun. I hope.

You got Capello. Third greatest coach in the world after Fergie and the Special One. England has to do something this world cup.

Even though I want USA to give England a thrashing, England will win...

But England will not win the World Cup. :nopenope:

Not really.

So you aren't actually joking when you think that your country is so much better than every other in the world?

America do a lot of shit very well and it's on my list of possible places to move in the next 5 years, but a lot of you guys need to open your eyes and realise that America is not as great as you are constantly led to believe and there are a lot of bad things about the country you live in.

I presume you're forgetting that England beat Croatia 1-4 in Zagreb (and 5-1 in London) in the qualifiers?

I'm an American but I have lived in the UK for 14 years ago tomorrow. Yup, my anniversary of moving to the country is on the day the two countries are playing each other.

You want to know how I know I have lived here a long time? I am rooting for England. Mostly because it simply means more to them. Don't get me wrong, I want the USA to put up a good fight but I don't think most of the country would care if they even won the whole World Cup. Whereas, it would be like a national orgasm here...and it would piss off the Scottish. Which, is always a bonus.

Haha well it's hard to believe that so many people are actually like that, makes me think people are trolling a lot of the time.

When I was a child I was constantly told we live in the "greatest country there is". Teachers, parents, etc. Not sure why that was the common mentality, but I was given the impression that the rest of the world was worse off. Shitty mentality, I know.

Now that I grown up a bit, its quite a bit easier to see this isn't the case. Im guessing this 'view' is still taught to those that can be impacted, by people that honestly believe it (and do not know any better). Personally, I don't hate it here; but I would much rather live somewhere with some history and different culture.

Just thought I would give some insight (from an American's point of view) on why people think USA > Everyone.

As for the map, its probably not that far off from reality for some people.

Yeh I get that, and stupid people will obviously fall for it.. I just always find it hard to understand why so many people on a forum like this follow that line of thinking, people on this forum should be more intelligent than that :)

Im guessing its almost like religion (And not to criticize religion, Im a Christian) to a degree. When you believe something your whole life, its not easy to change that train of thought; especially if it means telling yourself you were wrong.
