no doupt rugby is a tough sport, I am from Hawaii and polynesians love
to play rugby we also love to play American football.
I have played both Rugby and American Football each has its own respectable "MAN"liness prowess to it.
I would say that American football is harder on the body (in the long term) because the padding prevents the minor injuries that would sideline a player immediatley after a hit but keeps him in the game which allows for longterm internal damage to his body (concussions etc..).
For example in american football I would tackle another player by placing my forehead right in the other persons jaw, or right in his chest (thats what #36 in your pic is about to do). Do that without a helmet and
you will break your neck, you dont see rugby guys tackling like this, in rugby we usually arm tackle, shoulder tackle or wrap the opponent from
behind/ the side (as shown in your pic of the rugby players).
dont get me wrong, it still hurts to tackle in rugby but just
because you see rugby guys with bleedy nose just means that they got a direct hit to the nose. If you see an american football player with a bleedy
nose its likely that he got rocked so hard in the head that the impact
cause his nose to bleed without any contact directly to the nose meaning that not only is his nose f###*d up but his brain just got f#***d up too.
at the end of the day, both rugby and football are men sport.
but i think there is a reason why professional American football players and professional Basketball players get paid lots of
money- its because not everyone can be elite athletes like that.

Most American sports cater to stupid people and I often wonder how many Americans realise this.. The reason most Americans don't like Football is because they don't have the attention span for it, they are used to simple unengaging sports where points are constantly being scored to keep them interested, this is why pool is so big in America yet Snooker is pretty much non existant (as far as I know).
