Prove Intelligent Design is religion first. If you read and referenced what I said in this thread you would know. See you're are stuck in your way and thats it. My mom was a chemistry teacher and a chemistry professors assistant back in Russia. For years I grow up this shit. But changed my mind when I started listening and reading the material of other Brilliant minds of our time. This topic is very political and has huge implications.
Remember Atkins diet and what happened to it. Well thats kind of how I looks at Darwinism.
Study Francis Crick - this person discover the complexity of DNA and won a Nobel Prize for it (that puts him way up there right). He was an atheist who not so long ago, started a theory of his own. Why, he couldn't put the complexity of DNA and theory of Darwin's evolution together.

Its pretty easy here on this forum, not to challenging. I usually like to do this, on other niche forums. Its just funny, when kids or pot heads try to take me on. I know most of arguments by heart, like I said I grow up with a science professor.

Sorry English is my third language. I was already kind of old when I learned it. From the looks of it you haven't mastered your native.
To Rusky and everyone else interested in these sorts of things, I recommend Bill Maher's movie "Religulous"

Maher's stance is more on the lines of "the truth is, we don't know what happened before us, how we got here, what happens when we die, and you're an lunatic for trying to tell me what can't be proven."
Maher doesn't touch on this, but I also feel that way towards those who are "evolution extremists" or whatever you want to call them. Science is not the end all be all, because we, as humans, can never know "everything about everything." The capicity is not there.
Rusky, you, like so many of us (including myself), grew up and/or associated with people who simply accepts certain ideas of God and religion because there is no other clear cut answer (and it feels good). But why is your religion better than others? Is it fair that you have the right religion and others do not?
I don't know much about Darwinism, but the way you see it isn't science/evolution at all. Hitler's problem was that he was a bigot/extremist, not a Darwinist/evolutionist. Correlation does not equal causation. The theory of evolution does not cause bigotry, just as the myths of religion doesn't, but we can all agree that there are religious bigots out there too, like the KKK. It's their bigotry that causes the problems.
As for those that enhance their lives through religion, as in Phreon's relatives' case, then the religion is simply a crutch, a comforter to counter pessimism. You can use scientific explainations of "why we are the way we are" for comfort as well. I certainly do.
It's completely natural to worry about things, it's human nature. As Alex pointed out, it's in our instincts to strive for things like peace, prosperity, and well being for yourself and those close to you. We sometimes end up blaming and attacking others who threaten these things.
Anyways, I guess what I'm really trying to say is I think its silly to argue from the standpoint of the two extremes, because the bottom line is we simply do not know everything. Accept it, live with it, and focus only on the things that we can control.

BlueRap I not sure if you're talking about me. See I grew up in a home of pretty well education people, in the soviet union days. Yes the same place that said there is no God, and Darwin was the only way were gonna have it. My mom was a chemistry major and was a teacher in high school and a university. I didn't even know of the word God, till I was in my teens. This isnt about me feeling good. I'm going to mention this again for the third time, this isnt about religion. Its Darwinism and Intelligent Design. I started asking questions. For instance what is DNA, and how does it work, and were does it get its genetic instructions. Actually an American Nobel prize winner and an atheist F.Crick(the guy that made DNA look cool) did his thing and couldn't put Darwinism and DNA together. I'm not talking about religion here, just science. Why everyone keeps bringing it up is a mystery to me.

By this logic things like gravity, chemistry, physics, every single thing we study in science is not actually science. The main reason for science is to explain things we see around us, therefore EVERYTHING existed before science.
