LOL at some of the responses in this thread. Yes, Iced earth is awesome. No, I don't think they are one of the most popular metal bands ever. Def not even in the top 25 as far as true metal bands' popularity.

And lol at saying system of a down is the only heavy band worth listening to these days, let alone even good at all. And lol at malmsteen being the best guitarist ever - he's great, saw him live, but he is a one trick pony. Personally, I think Vai is probably the best ever. (although I am a HUGE EVH fan).

I have to admit that i did own a couple of his albums when i was in highschool, but that was a while ago. I cut my hair and threw away all of my iron maiden t shirts since then.
The only metal band i like these days is the deftones
