Fantasy Football Last-Minute Starts Thread

You're playing with fire if you start any Green Bay receivers, not only because Rogers most likely won't play, but because New England's defense is in ascension right now.

Mendenhall is solid, but rarely puts up big numbers. I'm in the playoffs which is all that I could ask for, but in a really tough matchup against the best team in the league, point-wise. Just gotta hope one of my studs(Vick, Andre Johnson, Moreno) or one of my secondary players(Owens, Holmes, Woodhead, Fletcher) has a big game. I generally don't tinker with my lineup at all and aim for a consistent 10+ points out of every player as opposed to relying on a couple big players. It's worked for me so far, we'll see how this week goes.

btw anybody else reaping the benefits of starting VJ on Thursday?

I didn't start VJ and kinda mad about it.

But I'm in the playoffs and don't know how because I have no QB. I have Tony Romo (obviously not playing), Chad Henne, and David Garrard. I'm leaning towards Henne because there is reports that Garrard might not play. But I can see Garrard just sucking it up because this is an important game for the colts and jags. So who should I start, Henne or Garrard?

I'm going with Blount, Torrain and the Stud MJD. It really wasn't that big of a deal for me because Philip Rivers gave me 36.5 and I still have Michael Vick.

I'm hoping these picks will help me place in the overall fantasy league. 1st gets $1,000, second gets $500 and third gets $250. I'm only 71.5 points behind third out of 1,000. Thanks for the advice bros.

@Paul, go with Harvin. He's healthy and gonna play. they don't have much other offense and have a young new QB, so they may be going dink and dunk to harvin a lot.

I am in 3 leagues this year and in the semis in all 3, but thursday night game screwed me. I totally forgot about it. In one league i had Vincent Jackson on the bench and in another i started Floyd (who was injured).

Ok, so with Kyle Orton out, should i go with:
Josh Freeman?
or
Jon Kitna?

Also, I'm a little worried about starting Brandon Loyyd with Tebow starting. But my other options is Derick Mason (who has been playing well, and they will need to throw on NO)

In another league i also have Loyd, should i start brandon marshal? Marshal has done nothing for weeks and they will run on buffalo...

Garrard. Henne sucks.

Garrard. Henne sucks.

Guys that go from not on the injury list to Questionable after Friday's very light practice rarely play on Sunday...sounds like a hammy, not good. Might be forced to roll Henne. Check your waiver wire for a better option if so.

@Paul, go with Harvin. He's healthy and gonna play. they don't have much other offense and have a young new QB, so they may be going dink and dunk to harvin a lot.

He said Rice, not Harvin. Rice is not the dink or dunk guy but I'd roll with him anyway, Braylon sucks massive dongs. You might get lucky I'll always roll with talent over luck. Play Sydney

The OP was from 6 weeks ago. The bumped post for this week was in reference to Rice vs Braylon. but we're both right. Either of them is a better play than Edwards.

The thing about Rice is even with a shitty quarterback he can go and make plays himself. I know I am a steelers fan but honestly I doubt Braylon will have even a poor game. The weather forecast is calling for snow and lets face it Sanchez is a shitty quarterback in good weather.

My problem right now is who to start as RB, in the flex spot and my WR'S

Keep in mind I can fill two spots with one being my second RB and one in my flex spot. I have:

Ahmad Bradshaw (has a hand injury, still going to play)
Legarrette Blount
Rashard Mendenhall (Playing a stingy Jets run defense)
Ryan Torain

My WR's are: (2 spots available)

Hines Ward - Snowy day in Pittsburgh
Greg Jennings- Aaron Rodgers probably isn't going to play
Mike Williams - Tampa Bay

Suggestions?

RB - Blount force (go Ducks!), Torain

Bradshaw will be the backup for Jacobs now, and Mendenhall has been struggling a lot lately.

WR - Ward, Williams (pick up someone instead of Williams if you can)

Jennings won't do anything because Rodgers has officially been ruled out.

@Paul, go with Harvin. He's healthy and gonna play. they don't have much other offense and have a young new QB, so they may be going dink and dunk to harvin a lot.

I have Orton and Freeman myself and am starting Freeman. I would take Freeman over Kitna, although I don't think Kitna is gonna do bad either at all.

Now, I need help as well.

WR + flex (choose 3, 1 being a flex, I have a shit ton of options):

Brandon Marshall, Earl Bennett, Stevie Johnson, Mario Manningham, Austin Collie, Anthony Armstrong, Rashad Jennings, Marshawn Lynch

This week would you take Joe Webb, Michael Crabtree, or Sidney Rice for my 3rd WR?

Webb 100% if he's the starter. For a WR3 spot it's definitely worth the risk throwing the QB in there, as if he has a terrible game he'll still likely get 6-7pts.
