Tried to bump an old one of these but its almost a year old and locked. Old thread here.

My current favorites:

Amazon App Store - get a free paid app every day
Barcode Scanner - barcode & QR code scanner
ChanScan - browse the chan sites. Not that I partake in such idiocies
DropBox - sync files across all devices
Evernote - sync notes across all devices
FotMob - suck it Rage
GasBuddy - find cheapest gas nearby
Handcent - SMS app
Jorte - day planner
Juice Defender - saves battery
SwiftKey - favorite keyboard

Untested recommendations from FB friends:

Total Recall - records all your telephone conversations
USA Today
Huffington Post
Chrome to Phone - send stuff from PC to phone - links, phone numbers to dialer, directions to gmaps app, etc
Urbanspoon - restaurant reviews

I use some of those but I also use;

Yahoo Finance - Tracks stock portfolia
Chase Bank - Banking app
Advanced Task Killer - Closes all running apps
Pandora - Streaming radio
The Weather Channel - Tells the weather

I also had a really cool app for the NYC subway system but the nav that comes with it is really good for mas transit too.

most of these apps are huge battery killers, so i keep a minimalist approach, on rooted android of course :) swiftkey is a HUGE memory and battery hog and if you are having performance issues check into that...my apps:

skype
calculator
adsense client
google talk/voice
advanced task killer
root explorer - must have (got my sd card mounted as a VPN and browse local/remote drives from root explorer...nice sending an email from phone and choosing an attatchment from my laptop or desktop at my office)

Weatherbug (for weather)
Tapatalk (for forum reading)
PowerAMP (for music)
Shop Savvy (barcode scanner)
Standard maps and Navigation for finding/routing shit.
