Feeling down

This whole Social Media generation is a hoax. People put their lives on display, only showing off the positive aspects. They put filters on their photos, to glimmer a fake reality that doesn't even exist.

"Oh look at my great career" - Where's the pix of them sitting in traffic, getting performance reviews, dealing with office politics, paying off student loans, etc

"Oh look at my amazing significant other" - Where's the stories of them arguing, lying, breaking up?

Like watching a sing-along Disneyland movie where the kids are skipping down Main St USA holding hands with Mickey Mouse (not waiting in lines for a 2 minute ride)...everyone's reality is not as good as they are showing off with their filtered photos.

Do you have a roof over your head, clothes on your back, filtered water, a few bucks in the bank, and food on the table? If so, you're better off then a large chunk of the world. Citizens in third world countries look at your life and wish to be in your shoes; be grateful and enjoy life.

fartyman, brah:

Just stop browsing FB, LinkedIn or any other places...
... specially if it only serves you to compare yourself to others;

Some of your high school friends HATE their works,
and they get boozed every single afternoon,
just drowing themselves into oblivion til waking time.

Some others just hold to shitty relationships
because they lack the courage to set things in motion
and the self-respect to go for the gold, no second hand shit.

Some others ...... (write your own)

Just STOP IT.

Grind, not hoping, will allow you to surpass ALL of them.

Would rather make 20k a year than work a job earning 100k a year unless I absolutely loved it. I can live on 20k easily in Spain and Thailand.

There's always Thailand.

If you don't make it OP, go to Thailand and we can meet up and drink a beer and enjoy the fact that being a white fuckup in Asia is still pretty good.

I don't understand. Live in Thailand, work in Thailand, buy houses in places that offer property protections. You don't have to live in them, rent them out, hire a property management company to manage them, fuck Thai bitches.

Getting rich is so easy, it's a simple 3 step formula:

1. Make money (job or business)
2. Invest money in things that make you more money (investments, RE, other business)
3. See 1.

Guys if you aren't taking your AM earnings and buying real, tangible assets then you're doing it wrong.

You make it sound so easy! Why isn't everyone rich? :action-smiley-027:

Hell you could get by on 12k a year in thailand if you're smart that 1k a month.

I love this 'I dont have motivation, pls help me' shit. We all have downs, but we dont post it here, because we know that it is just a phase.

Life is actually simple and in most cases, fair. If you want something you will get it.
You can be motivated by: a) reward and b) pain.

The only question is, do you feel enough pain for being such a pussy and because all your friends have a better life than you, because you are living with parents like a parasite and so on...

Or maybe the image of you living your dream excites you so much that you work all day?

You will know that you are motivated when you delete all shit that waste your time and start being focused on work 24/7. Like when you are sitting on a toilet, you are thinking about a project. When you are eating, you are thinking about a project. You literally need to mindfuck yourself to think about that all day. When you get at that level, you will know that this is the right job for you.

Apparently, you dont feel pain and you dont see yourself like a god in 3-5 years. And that is okay, I understand that. The thing that I dont understand is why the fuck dont you admit to yourself that you just dont want this hard enough and find something that you do? Or sit there with your mommy, post on wickedfire how you hate your life, get some emotional spike from our answers and do it again every time you feel like a pussy.

Sounds like you accept the fact that you're a failure now. Are you going to do something about it or continue to be a Russian drunkard?

Tomorrow.

I'm not more of a fuckup in the professional sense that I can land the first job I apply to.

The fuckup is in personal financial management and being a level headed responsible adult in general and this I attribute to a shitty childhood so it won't be fixed by reading another 'how to make a to do list', but years of therapy, ain't nobody got time for that. At least I recognize my faults and understand that planning and administration is a weakness. I can look for that in business partners going forward.

OP: You're feeling down? I'm attending a funeral tomorrow of someone very dear to me. I haven't cried since I was a teenager, not even when I lost my baby daughter, not when I found my best friend's body hanging from a tree, not when I found another with his throat slit, not when my dad (who was my hero) died last year, but when I heard about this - that was it. Total mess.

My day tomorrow is going to be tougher than yours I think.

Get a grip - do some actual work and stop pissing around.

Don't let life pass you by and look to ones you love to ask them "why?"
(Doves - There goes the fear)

Same applies, if it's a Thai company then you can own land as well.

That's a loophole that's being abused, and could be closed at any time. What most foreigners tend to do is grab a Thai wife, put the land in her name, then have her sign over a 99 year lease on it.

Having a thai GF at the moment, we had a conversation about this earlier.

Fartyman, you can land yourself a job over $100k in Western Australia work for Oil/Gas, or Mining Industry. Literally 70% of people I know make between $100-$250k a year.

Out of interest, what are they taking home after tax, living expenses, etc are taken into account.

A friend was considering it years ago and we crunched the numbers and at the time it looked like he would take away $30k PA after everything, although that figure wasn't accounting for tax deductions, etc.

Got a source on it being a loophole?

You mean other than the law stating foreigners aren't allowed to own land?

They could easily pass a new law closing that hole, and if they make it retroactive, there's going to be a lot of hurting foreigners out there.

The fact that shit *might* change doesn't make it a loophole.

Doom and gloom you are, sheesh.

Stop reading thaivisa it's shit and its fucking with your perspective.

You're starting to sound like every other idiot expat that thinks everybody in Thailand is out to get them.

LOL, I'm not doom and gloom. That's what the law says, and actually, that's the perfect definition of a loop hole. The law clearly states foreigners are not allowed to own land.

That doesn't mean register a Thai company, you own 49% but have structured it to have special voting privileges, then go buy land.

Whatever though, up to you. If you believe that's a good way to go about it, feel free to buy yourself a few rai.

As opposed to hiding under your bed, scared that one day, something, somewhere might go wrong.

And then at same time suggesting people put the property in the name of a spouse where you have even less control than with a company.

Well, whatever dude. The law clearly states foriegners aren't allowed to own land.

If you want to risk it by going that shady corporate route, go for it. If it ever comes down to it, any prosecutor worth their salt will be able to prove that land is owned by a foreigner, hence will be confiscated. I'm not saying the govt is going to crack down on this, but it is a possibility, and enough of a one that I'm not dropping say $200k into land here.

And yes, I would much prefer my method. That way the land is actually purchased legally, plus I have a legally binding 99 year lease to it. That I can actually present to a judge, whereas with your method I have sweet fuck all to go in with, because it's an illegal purchase of land according to current law.

Up to you though.
