On the firing line
Okay guys, with close to 100k members, there has got to be a few of you into guns. Let's see 'em.

After a 15 year hiatus, I went and got my handgun permit again and bought a couple pistols. (not the same day)

Ruger MK III .22 with threaded barrel.

Have not got a suppressor for it yet. Not sure if I'm going to. The suppressor + tax stamp would end up costing more than the gun itself. Seems weird, but true.

For anyone that hasn't shot a .22 pistol they are hellish good fun. Very little recoil, and super cheap to shoot. At 25 feet, I can rapid fire into the black all day long. Amazingly accurate little gun.

One thing that I HATE about this gun is field stripping it. Holy fuck is it a pain in the ass. They (the infamous "they") say that as it wears in, it should get easier. I can't wait. Only have 400 rounds through it so far.

The second one is a Beretta M9A1. The only real difference between this and the M9 is the tac rail. Otherwise, it's the same.

The Beretta is not as much "fun" as the Ruger. Mainly because I have small hands, so it's not as easy to handle. I can not rapid fire into the black with this one. At least not yet. I can, however, spray the entire range tapping rounds off as fast as my fingers will go, but people start to wonder when you fire off 15 rounds and have only 1 hole in your target. Go figure.

I used to own a Kimber Gold Match years ago. Still absolutely love the 1911 platform, but can't convince myself to get one. Why? Cost per shot. Cheap .45 ACP ammo is about $0.40 per shot. The 9mm is about half that.

Yeah, I'm a cheap ass. :D

Anyhow, here's both guns:

Let's see yours.

I am male and American. Therefore I have two guns.

XD40 Semi-Compact

(not my hand lol)

and a 12 guage shotgun.

+1 for 22's. They always seem to be incredibly accurate.

Chris, I think I shot one of those XD's the other day. Guy in the lane next to me had one with a laser on it, insisted that I shoot it. Very comfortable gun. Liked it a lot. In all honesty, should of got that instead of the M9.

+1 for 12 gauge. Forget I had one of those as well. Well, actually it's my dad's, but he's in no hurry to get it back. :D

I do not need a Gun to hunt or to get me out of dangerous situations..

..All I need is this...

Not a real enthusiast, however I do enjoy filling my sporting license tags. Top to bottom:

Browning A-Bolt .270
Savage Model 99F .300
Benelli Super Black Eagle 12 GA
Smith and Wesson .44 Magnum

Also have a Weatherby 7mm Mag in a vault at a buddies house until I get my new one.

Soon to be purchased
Mossberg 500
Benelli (haven't decided on model)
AK-47 (pre-ban model so I can rock a fully auto)

Current firearms:
AR-15: Spikes Lower, Del-Ton Upper, Magpul Foregrip, Magazine and Rear Sight
Glock 23 (pictured with Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel and 30 round magazine)

Glock 26 9mm

S&W 5906 9mm

Also have a Winchester .22 long and a Remington 20-gague pump, too lazy to get them.

Almost bought a taurus .45 a while ago, will probably buy an assault rifle this year.

I have a few. Sort of wish I had a photo like JarredLv's with them all together. It would be simpler to post, but I'll post a few of them.

AR-15 I built with a Del-ton kit on a DPMS lower. It has a flip-up rear sight, and I have a nice tac scope I haven't yet mounted and sighted.

I'm always attracted to the unusual stuff. This is a HK P7, and the only pistol in the world with a squeeze cocker. Yes, the slide is plum-colored.

This 9mm CZ 75B is the most accurate pistol I own, and is a great range gun.

This is my constant companion: Sig P239. I've run over 15,000 rounds through it, and it NEVER. FAILS.
Below is the ugly-ass rig I use to carry it, and is before I slapped the Pau Ferro wood grips on it.

There are more pistols, couple of shotguns, hunting rifles, .22's
I'm in good shape when the zombies come. :ak:

Do yourself a favor and don't buy Taurus autos of any kind (IMHO Taurus makes shit autos - opinion formed from experience).

Want a reliable, less expensive .45? Find a used Springfield GI model. Seen 'em around here for under $600.

Question: anyone know of a good site that tracks Class 3 values? I've heard that a lot of Class 3 guns can be good investments, but the appreciation figures that some people throw around seem out of line. For example: the other day a guy was telling me that if you own any pre-ban full auto, in ten years it'll be worth 3 times what it is today. That seems a little steep to me. Sure, there are less an less every year, but if that's truly the case, that seems like a great investment to have stored in a vault somewhere. Better than stocks and bonds.

WTF? How does that work? Pull the trigger to fire, squeeze the handle to cock? Sorry if I sound insanely dumb. Never seen anything like that. (off to wikipedia...)

The recommended way to fire is to squeeze and then pull the trigger when ready. The trigger is very smooth and light while the squeeze cocker is about 10lbs.
What's really cool about the gun is that it will fire if you use the above method, if you pull the trigger back and then squeeze it, or even if you do both at the same time. Also, if somehow someone were able to wrest it away from you, chances are they wouldn't be able to figure out how to make it go off, since the trigger does absolutely nothing without the cocker squeezed.

Depends on the gun. You can't buy a full auto mp5 for less than 30k now. 10-20 years ago it cost 10.

Not an enthusiast, just a fan of shooting anyone who decides to come into my house and fuck with me...

I have a few guns, I bought this one recently...

DSC09169.JPG

Smith & Wesson Bodyguard .38 Special.

It shoots the +P rounds.

I was pretty pissed after I bought it because it's hard to be accurate with when you aren't used to it.

It's highly concealable, it packs a helluva punch and it's tiny for a .38 special.

I can barely hold on to the thing it's so small. I was really inaccurate the first few times firing it, but I've finally got used to it, and it's accurate enough for what I use it for (home defense and occasionally carrying while hiking, etc.).

Also has a laser site which I haven't used much except for messing with my cat.

All in all, it's not bad for a concealable weapon or something to keep close for home defense.

>Envy<

When I was in the US I had a couple of Rugers and S&W's, Mossberg shotgun, baby Bauer (cute little .25 that could hide in the palm of your hand).

Living in Thailand guns can be had but they are so f'ing expensive. A S&W .38 chief's special is over USD2,000. And ammo at about USD2 per round - doesn't make for fun outings to the range.

I have been around guns for a while but had not purchased one until about a year ago. Decided to go with the Taurus Judge because it shoots 45 long colts and 4/10 shotgun shells. Pretty effective for self defense/close range spray. Heres the promo video:
