The first person who actually has a website that needs a new logo or a logo re-design gets a logo, and it will be completed tonight within the next few hours.

Winning is simple, the first person who responds to this post with an obviously legitimate logo design request, is the winner.

Why am I doing this? I'm starting a video based web blog about design/webmaster stuff/usability and for the first episode I'm covering logo design and how a logo designer designs a logo on the spot, uncut, and not pre-designed - that way the thought process and all of that good stuff will be documented. I will post the link to the blog / video after I'm done and it's up.

I can give more details, but I wanted to get in first so I typed fast. There's a team of Indians doing the site now, but I don't like the logo they're giving me and I'm having no luck getting a nice one out of them. I would be very interested in seeing if you can do something better.

The link I gave you doesn't link to the version they're working on which is Drupal.
 
Damn, just missed it. Since you already have a taker for your freebie - what's your reg. price for logo/header design?
 
Getting a cool logo would be a far nicer gift than the coal I got in my stocking for Christmas. And the poor looking logo has been a source anxiety for me.
 
Who said I am going to choose blueyonder? He posted 1 word / few word responses, it's what I said not to do...

When you make a statement like this, and get a legitimate logo request, then say the response was inadequate and you're still deciding, it looks like a con.

How am I supposed to design a *good* logo for a business with the information you gave me? Come on... You said yourself you could give me more information. I'm not conning.
 
Gary is about as legitimate as they come. One of the best designers around. I've known him for almost 10 years. Take that statement back you fuckface.

Who's the fuckface? I don't know Gary, except that he made an offer then refused to fulfill based on some vague requirements that only he understands.

I get it that it was meant to be a Christmas promotional, but it doesn't seem to be working out spreading the holiday cheer. And a happy holiday to you.

I make beats and my name for it is, "Street Beatz" (without the quotes of course)

2. Website Address:
The site currently forwards to another, but it still gets hits to the site I forward it to. URL is: Street Beatz at SpitYoGame.com is Spiffed Up |

3. Do you want the URL in the logo?
I would like the url in the logo. I would like it below the actual logo, not on top or in the middle of it.

4. Specify a slogan to appear in the logo: (optional)
If you can make it look right, I would like: "Drop That Beat"

5. Do you have a color scheme in mind? (optional)
I really like red. Maybe like red in the words and maybe a black outline around the words/name of the logo.

6. Any type of symbol or icon to appear in the logo? (optional)
Maybe a drum machine or a midi keyboard. Here is a picture of both if you don't know what either is:

I'm looking for a dark type of style. Maybe some like patterns on the words/logo... brick like. If that helps at all. I guess a hip-hop style also.

The business is making beats. Any type of beats. Mostly hip-hop, but can also be rock and pop. I use the drum machine and keyboard to play my music. I use the drum machine to sample most of the time.

*EDIT* More comments:

I took a look at your website, garysimon.net and I took a look at the BEASTS logo. Thats the style I would like. Energy in the words like the one in that logo.

Sounds more like you don't want to do it since it's not easy enough to make 'free'.

And what bout the Its Yo Buddy post, that seems more than 1 word and you still say "any others?"

K, finished / recorded. I'll update this in a few hours. If I decide not to post the video, I definitely will post the design, it didn't turn out too bad for only taking 30 minutes.
 
Going to take awhile longer to get the video edited but here's the logo.. I literally designed this within 30 minutes and on the spot without contemplating / drafting first as I normally do. I didn't want to directly depict either the drum machine or keyboard, but just a recognizable element of the keyboard.

It's tough to design so quickly lol.
