Five Hour Energy Drinks

I'd like the buzz to get a lot of AM work done quickly. I've always heard that extended use of Adderall (especially if you aren't ADD) is bad for you. Is there something else I could use to switch it up everyday?

Good old fashioned coffee works for me. My credentials? Taking care of a newborn.

You're right, buzz is the wrong word. It's just that when I use these stimulants my concentration levels go through the rough along with my productivity. I'll definitely take a look at the information you provided. Thanks bro

LOL -and if you breastfeed your newborn, there's nuthin like fresh cappuccino straight from the tap!
What you take in, so does your baby.

Post office by my house has a funny sign up on the wall:

All children left unattended will be given Expresso and a Free Puppy!

I tryed one. Tasted like shit and made me jittery. Caffeine pills do the same and cost 1/100th

When you throw around the word "buzz", it sounds like you want that narcotic euphoria. A healthy use of Adderall will not give you much of a euphoric buzz. However, psychological dependencies develop when people don't think it's working unless they ARE "buzzed" which is a horrible psychology.

If you take Adderall, don't take it every day, take the smallest dose possible, and get your shit done when you take it. You also want to dose Vitamin C and Magnesium (or take a complete multivitamin) a few hours before you pop amphetamine.

Psychostimulants like caffeine will give you a sort of buzz as well. Moderate amounts of coffee is good for you. Moderate amounts of caffeine isn't bad for you.

For focus, you can try to up your intake of B vitamins, B-12 and B-6 in particular, but they make eachother more bioavailable so take a B-all pill.

Try Phospha-lipids too, like Phosphatidylserine.

Check out evitamins.com for reviews of amphetamine alterantives. Try all alternatives before reverting to Adderall. Only take Adderall for work CRUNCHES and not for every day tasks.

Two products I quickly found on evitamins.com were Added Attention and Focus for Adults. They have B-vitamins and P-Lipids in common with my suggestion. Try them out.

A better and cheaper and less marketed alternative to those would be to research what you can ingest more naturally that is high in B-vitamins and P-lipids. Or compile a list of those products, write down common ingredients across similar products with good reviews, and then seek out the isolated ingredients.

The most cost effective way would be to get a solid placebo going of course. :anon.sml:

Quick question: to you, what is a moderate level of caffeine. Where does popping a 200mg nodoz every 3-4 hours fall on your chart?

if you are looking for more sustained energy levels throughout the day then daily nutrition would be the first area I would evaluate, personally.

see how that effects your focus and productivity before moving on to stimulants (not that I am against them because I have used them in the past and still take a 200mg caff. pill immediately upon waking).

well the half-life of caffeine is about 3 hours, I think, (although it can vary greatly depending on numerous factors). so it is still somewhat in your system after those 3-4 hours. in my opinion, 200-400mg a day would be moderate (about 2 cups of coffee). However, Mahzkrieg prolly knows more than me.

Between nodoz, coffee, and energy drinks, my average daily caffeine intake is somewhere around 1,200-1,500 mg

just did a quick google search on 1,200mg of caffeine and some site called caffeinedependence.org had this to say - "High doses of caffeine (750 to 1200 mg/day spread throughout the day) administered daily, have been shown to produce "complete" tolerance (i.e., caffeine effects are no longer different from baseline or placebo) to some, but not all of the effects of caffeine."

i don't see a reference though, but I would agree that you are definitely in the high range. that's a shit ton of caffeine. I would hate to experience the headaches you would get if you went cold turkey.

First things first. What do you want your "buzz" for?

To wake up, take a moderate amount of caffeine. You can chain-drink moderate levels of coffee/tea with no harmful side-effects.

To get a recreational buzz, crush Adderall and roll up a dollar bill.

For productivity, get an Instant Release (IR) Adderall prescription and don't take more than 5 to 7.5mg at once. Don't be a fucking wuss and get addicted either. Make a solid checklist of tasks, set up your work environment, and then pop the pill. Don't take it all day. Don't take it every day.

If you're always fatigued, hit the gym.
I take 30mg xtra length daily. I can sleep for 3 hours and stay awake all day no problem. In fact my eyes are so wide open they water.

If you have caffeine everyday the effect goes away, and you become dependent on it just to prevent a crash.

Take 200mg twice/week on the days that you need the energy most. Caffeine does a great job, but once you're dependent it doesn't do shit.

Mahzkrieg:  You know your shit, mate.
We learnt about all this in highschool bio, and the sales of the energy drinks at the canteen just plummeted.

I love coffee for the flavour, unfortunately.
I've found Lucozade (for the glycose) and an apple work nicely if I haven't eaten and my blood sugar's low.
But if I need a kick, a good strong cup of Celestial Seasonings white pear tea. Any white tea would do, but I like the flavour of this one in particular. There's a hell of a lot of caffiene in the stuff.

As for cocaine, I don't know about other people, but I never found it to last all that long. Pseudoephedrine has always been my chemical stimulant of choice, and you can get it over the counter if you have a blocked nose and complain about how phenylephrine doesn't work for you "as a decongestant" :D
(which it really doesn't for me... the shit is a placebo and studies have shown it!)

Dude, your liver is going to look like pattè... Go cold turkey for a week. You're going to feel tired as all get out, but you need to cut back.
Moderate = a couple of cups of coffee. So 120-200mg per day.

Not sure if they still sell/produce it anymore but its called "Cocaine".

It tastes HORRIBLE, but a teaspoon of the stuff will make you feel fucking alive for hours. Its got so much power its unreal. But again, it tastes like crap, even if you mix it into another drink, theres just no avoiding it.

Just to see, I went cold turkey for just a single day about 3 weeks ago. No caffeine period. I made myself even avoid soda and chocolate just to see the effects.

I was tired all day - and by 3 pm I had a huge fucking headache. I was popping advil like they were m&ms.

This stuff? Cocaine (drink - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

I think they took the pseudoephedrine out of Sudafed over here unfortunately, had a great night with it in Thailand though!

Never found cocaine a very productive drug personally either, too intense and short-lasting (and way too moorish!). I bet chewing the leaves would be more slow-release but also reportedly tastes like shit!

Anyone looked into using the stimulant properties of diet pills? Ephedrine? Hoodia? - that's banned in the US now isn't it?

Be useful to find alternatives, but I think it's gonna come down to caffeine or amphetamines and the shit that goes with them.
