Flippa Buyer did not Pay for a website

So, yesterday I spent about $59 for a listing on Flippa. I decided to have a BIN price as well. I woke up this morning and noticed someone already hit the "Buy it Now" button however, did not actually pay for the site.

I get a message in my inbox from that buyer saying "sorry, i have missed button, i will not buy your site"

They have no reason not to buy the site, since they did not state any reason. I viewed the buyers information and they just joined Flippa it seems, with absolutely no feedback, bids, or anything.

Anyways, $59 is not a huge fee for me plus what is owed on the success fee, however this really ticks me off that buyers can just come in and ruin an auction that I paid for. Now, I'll have to relist later on.

I did not bother to even respond to this deadbeat buyer because I don't want any issues or having to argue over something. I simply reported them to Flippa. I know they are based in Australia. My ticket was pushed to customer service and now I have to wait.

Does anyone have any recommendations to avoid these types of buyers or what should I do? I've sold many sites on Flippa before and never ran into an issue like this!

Hey

ok you can contact flippa and do a dispute i know they would waive the success fee but not sure if they will allow you to relist it for free .

its not your fault so they might allow you to relist it

fringers crossed

It's been a while since I sold anything on Flippa, but if I recall correctly can't you screen out certain bidders/profile classes?

Dude. This is not flippa.
The buyer said it was a mistake.
Send an email to flippa.

Good luck.

My experience with flippa 'customer service' was not good. More of a 'fuck you we're flippa' type of attitude.

They'll give you your money back and allow you to relist again for Free.

Just ask them for the credits because a buyer hit the BIN button and didn't come thru.

There's a dispute sale button in the sale completion area I believe. They will credit you back so don't worry about that. For future, simply state you don't want to deal with zero feedback / new users. I just did this for my last auction in the comments after some guy pissed me off.

There's usually a few trolls/tire kickers that have no interest in buying the site that ask stupid questions and/or try to point out something stupid just to feel important.

What I'm doing from now on and I'd recommend is simply state in big fuckin letters since some of these idiots can't read:

If you have zero feedback and/or transactions you must message me before bidding and/or asking any questions in the comments (or your comment will be deleted) with an explanation of how you intend to pay for the auction and proof of funds (if it is a higher priced auction).

This will keep idiots away because anyone who's serious will message you and you'll be able to figure out quickly what's up. SCREEN YOUR BIDDERS before accepting their bids. If doing BIN make them pay right away (there's an option) via Paypal if the sum is reasonably small. Obviously if they have a ton of feedback with near 100% then you can skip all this. This really applies to the trolls who never buy shit and waste time.

Now a days flippa is full of scammer and they rip the site and sell it there so i would prefer to stay away from it.

Thanks clyde,
Yeah - I got a refund. Turns out this buyer was from the Middle East and by the looks of it, was probably hitting the BIN button on other sites. Flippa suspended them right away after I disputed this issue.

I don't know about Flippa being shitty but so far they have treated me pretty good. From now on, I am only manually accepting bids. No exceptions =D
