These guys put out a set of 10 free stock images every 10 days. Quite nice stuff, bit artsy with that instagram/lomography vibe. Not going to sell many ecigs with these shots, but those of you in certain niches might find some use for them...

Why go there when I can get a mediocre picture of the average black guy starting at $84.00 on iStock?

If you guys want to be cheap about it but still use legit images... then just use this - fotolia trial with low balance prepaids.

Just make each new account with a diff. prepaid.

grind showed me this yesterday and saved me a few hundred bucks

Was going to use iStock because a client picked out specific images she wanted. it was 10 images and the total from iStock was $783 !!!!!!! FUCK THAT. iStock//Getty Images is a complete scam.

Fotalia is OK, much like Shutterstock, Dreamstime, 123rf, etc. (there's a dozen like them) and you can occasionally get great deals on credits packs through the likes of Deals for Designers and Developers | MightyDeals.com to save even more.

I hate iStock. They used to be awesome until Getty bought them, then the prices went through the roof while royalties to the photographers remain the lowest in the business. Unfortunately the image quality at iStock is often superior and they have many unique images that simply can't be found elsewhere. However, if there's an image there I just have to have, I double check that it can't be found on one of the other stock sites. No point in paying tens of times more for an image that can be had for pennies elsewhere. Unfortunately you sometimes just have to bite the bullet and pay those assholes if you really want a specific image only they have.

Shutterstock started this site http://www.offset.com/ for premium stock, and all the images sell for $250/$500 depending the resolution you buy.
