Freezing In Florida

Anyone that thinks Global Warming has to do with the air temperature is either grossly misinformed, willfully ignorant, or just a moron.
It was never about air temperature unless you read the psuedo scientific bullshit designed to discredit it. It's about ocean water, polar, and mantle temperatures.

If that was at me, sorry. I was just saying that things seem to have slowly but surely changed here, and I wondered if it was the same elsewhere.

Compared to what is happening at the Arctic and elsewhere, any changes here are tiny but when a 4 degree rise is seen as catastrophic they look significant and raise questions...

Is this related to global warming? Is global warming natural or caused by man? If we caused it, does that matter? If we are purely a product of the natural environment, then is it a natural thing regardless? Even if we are our own asteroid, the earth will survive. Should we try to change it, or just accept it? Do what we do naturally: A few of us disagreeing about anything, the rest not thinking about anything.

Come down under if you want chicks in bikinis. So long as you don't go to the Gold, Sunshine or Surf coast, the weather's great! Not that it's bad up North as such... just that they're having freak storms that are crushing people to death under fallen trees and what have you... Oh wait. That is bad.

Someday I'll get over your way... Bikinis good, storms not so good.

It is all based upon sunspots. Now that we are geared up for global warming, sun spot activity has dropped to near zero and the earth is cooling.

Watch the sun, it is our furnace and affects the temperature of the Earth more than man ever can.

It's ok Hippy... I can't stay mad at you.
Unless you have an East end accent... Then it's Reservoir Dogs time.
What upsets me the most about the entire debate is that it isn't about whether or not it's happening. It is, from a purely scientific stand point, we know it is. What truly pisses me off is that some interested parties are using the doubt as to the cause as a way of preventing any kind of action or preparation for the effects.
It doesn't matter a damn things if it's natural or if it's people doing it. What matters is that we are looking at a massive change in temperature, and other than feel good initiatives and hardcore survivalists, no one's doing anything. *sigh*

But yeah, seriously folks, come on down. The weather's great at the moment, and QLD should be right as rain (heheh) in a couple weeks when we get to drier periods in Jan.
If you come to Melbourne, drop me a PM, we'll grab a beer.

Why do people in Florida always have to remind you about their weather issues? My aunt and uncle love to tell me how amazing it is all the time. Then, when it's cold too they even talk about it, wtf!? I dont mind hearing about the weather when its nice, but to hear people complain about cold weather in Florida makes me pissed that their wasting my time.

40ish degrees F in Louisiana. I woke up and it was 60, but by noon the temperature dropped to 40 with a huge wind chill factor; it felt like it was 30...

Oh stop complaining you wussies.. Currently it is 14 degrees Fahrenheit, and the sun is starting to go down. Feel lucky that you are not living in Minnesota like me.

It's only 50 something in South Beach right now and that may be warm to some of you but my apartment doesn't have any heat so its pretty lame. WTF is up with this cold weather? It's Florida for fuck sake and I haven't been able to hit the beach in almost 2 weeks now!

Where is it warm right now? Because I'm about to bounce to some island for the weekend where I can hit the beach, see some boobs and Rick Roll a hotel lounge computer.

Any warm island suggestions? Turks? Puerto Rico? Cayman?

Enjoy it while it lasts, in March we will be back to those hot and humid days.
