Charlo Greene, a reporter for KTVA news in Anchorage, Alaska, quit her job by saying the f-word on air, claiming she'll instead focus on legalization of marijuana in Alaska.
“I — the actual owner of the Alaska Cannabis Club — will be dedicating all of my energy for fighting for freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana here in Alaska. And as for this job, well, not that I have a choice but… fuck it, I quit,” she said.

heh, ballsy move. Hope it doesn't come back to bite her.

So, I'm assuming she didn't know a story about knocking weed legalization was airing that night?

heh, ballsy move. Hope it doesn't come back to bite her.

'fighting for freedom and fairness' is sure to keep her well paid over the next 60-70 years of her life now that she's completely unemployable. what could possibly go wrong?

Mad props.

Looks like her indiegogo campaign is already at $1,500 and counting. I bet she'll hit her 5k goal by the end of today, and could easily double her funding goal.

I LOL'd at the anchor woman's confusion.

Seconded - that was funnier than Greene actually quitting.

edit: in the time it took for me to post this, her campaign went up to $2,100+ (link)

When she started talking about searching on Google, I got hard.

I called into a local AM political radio station a week ago to chime in about the US's drone striking #'s and innocent death %'s, and mentioned you can use Google to find any of this information.

The next 2 callers after me both referred to me as "That guy who Googles everything", in a negative tone as if gathering your own facts is a bad thing.

This is how your average 40+ year old views the internet and finding your own information instead of relying on Fox/CNN.

Charlo had been planning on quitting for quite some time, but, as you can imagine, holding a position with the media bodes well for any devil's lettuce legalization.

When we talked last, she was planning on doing it the normal way... two weeks notice and all. I'm not sure if this was a spur-of-the-moment decision or someone talked her into it, but, either way, I'm glad for her. Great girl with her head on straight and lots of ambition. She'll go far.

Getting a drink with her tomorrow night, actually.

Another friend of yours?

If you seen the video in the Mashable article i linked to, they say there was a conflict of interests of some sort... That while being an anchor or whatever she was, she made stories and interviews about her own organization... Idunno.
