Fuck. YSE is shutting down.

Alright, we are already working out a solution. I nearly pissed myself, the new tool we are developing incorporated YSE data. But we are figuring out an alternative.

Hehe, this might actually end up helping us :) And me personally in the long run. One of the many things that will raise the entry bar for SEO, something I don't particularly mind. Just a short term PITA as ly mentioned.

Do you think OSE's bank of servers indexing the whole internet for results, or anyone else's for that matter, is nearly the size of Yahoos?

What we're missing here people is server power. YSE was the unbeatable standard because it was so powerful that there was a chance for all of your backlinks to be found in it. (Not a good chance, but a chance nonetheless.)

Now any service out there isn't going to come close to finding all of your backlinks. OSE is a good idea but until they can afford a gargantuan server room full of bot hosts, scouring 500 billion pages a day and indexing it all, we have lost something truly valuable here. ;(
Or if they devise a Seti @ Home type of system to leverage distributed computing. I'd gladly donate some...

They will catch up. And when they do, it will be data accessible to the successful few. Making it harder to the new kids on the block to get in on the SEO game.

hello

Hi there buddy, i am new in this forum .

Could you please tell me how i can post a thread in this forum site?

Thanks

Herman

Its no biggie. Other places have better more detailed reports in my option. Like OSE. Plus yahoo only shows 1000 results anyways.
The integration with tools part sucks. I'm sure the market will feel the need. It always does.

This is old news like others have said, the cards were laid out months and month ago, possibly even longer. When Yahoo and Bing merged, there was a write up of all the services Yahoo was going to close down and YSE was one of them.

You guys needs to start reading news on SEO and whats coming up, its a shame most of you are reactive and not proactive.

Here's the thing:

YSE was the best free solution for finding a site's backlinks. When it's gone, whatever is in second place will become #1, whether that's majestic, OSE, or whatever. YSE was not a perfectly comprehensive tool, but it did a good job.

So now, #2 is #1, and since it is also not a perfectly comprehensive tool, it will be the best we've got. YSE isn't really that useful, I have sites where it shows me having 6000 backlinks and Google Webmaster Tools has having 50,000+ backlinks. Whatever is the best we've got is the best we've got. And whatever that is, it's not Google's data, so it doesn't really matter anyways.

It's not that big of a deal. There are options.

oooow, widdle ly2 is gonna have to work 4 hours a day instead of 2....fucking cry me a river...it's not like your sC2 skills will degrade that much with 2 hours less hot man on alien action a day.

This coming from the semi-pro snowboarder and professional welder. You spend your days playing in the snow or playing with your big trucks

"hey where is P at?"
"he's out snow boarding again"
"o"

Hi Herman, Sorry about Addison's rudeness... The problem is just that you have a low post count, and the number of posts you need is different for different people in different countries.

The thread you need to read to find out how many in your case is right here. After reading that page feel free to ask us anything else you need to know.

Enjoy, and welcome to Wickedfire.

Think about it this way... A lot of your competitors won't be watching your tail.. The noobs, that is, the kind who will come to increase the OBLs of your High PR comment pages messing up those targets.

Plus it will save me at least 2 hours a day.
Watching my own backlinks have been the second worsestest time killer after STAT Gazing.

Why is it that Google can't do this though? They do have the links: function but it sucks from what I can see.
Wow, I'm glad you thought of that avatar33... I'm going to get that Matt Cutts guy on the phone right now and suggest it to him... He seems like a nice guy, doesn't he? :frenchman:
