Wow, you got serious? lol ok.....let me wipe the trolls eyes, they got watery.
One thing you certainly aren't a black belt in is sense of humor. Ly2 has moved up to being one of my favourite WF posters after this classic thread, and you just kept feeding the beast - over and over and over and over.
I've been laughing and joking trolling back calling him a "newb" since the beginning. I've also laughed my ass off at icetoeskimo's joking around with me with jiu-jitsu baby's and that "slave to cowboy" book with my name. And I stole the picture about the .22 being the guys favorite gun because it saved his life from a bear, by shooting his girlfriend in the knee cap with it. I lol'd my ass off and even posted it on my facebook. (there were other funny once, even ly2 train picture with borat made me laugh, but those are the only one that stick out)
You fail to realize that for me, bored at home and doped up on vicodines from surgery....troll feeding/slaying is fun. Half my job is being on internet forums. I'm well aware of what trolls are. What you fail to realize, is that I'm from Texas and I grew up with my pops cussing and saying he loved me in the same sentence.
He is the kind of guy who when I call him, he says "Whuts up pussy, where you been". I realize that internet lacks tone, but just because I'm cussing...or calling you a fag...doesn't mean I'm the least bit upset. I had more fun on this thread than any in a long time.
Moving to a slightly more serious note: Personally one of the things I appreciate about martial arts training is the fact that for (some of us) it gets your aggression out in a positive, constructive way...in a sparring match or just plain old sweat and hard work.
I agree, which is partly what sucks..being stuck in this house for so long after this surgery I had fixing an old broken nose. I've been on vicodins with nose 3 inch nose splints in each nostril driving me crazy.
Once you regularly spar with a strong fast guys that KNOW what they are doing and would be able to rip most guys apart on the street, and hold you own, there isn't much reason to go around getting upset at clowns that want to start something in pubs. Or getting defensive about your martial art on forums filled with idiots like me. Unless you ARE that clown that goes around trying to start something in pubs...and I've known a couple of them.
For the person that looks to the martial arts to learn more than just FIGHTING, they can be a wealth of culture and teach things like discipline, control, humility, tolerance and so forth. Qualities that you don't seem to be displaying much of in this thread.
Again, I find it humorous you telling me I should treat "trolls with respect", you sir a a troll getting trolled lol. I've just playing fucking around back. Do you really think that I thought it was possible for a small group of people trolling to really think it was a .22
Lets clear up the waters here, he was trolling calling it a .22 so I was trolling back calling him a fag and vegan for not knowing gun calibers. I think you need to re-read the thread because when peope were funny and cracking on me...I was LOLin and thanking there posts. (if it was funny)
But then there are the ones that just see them as an excuse to get upset about things, start fights and call others "fucking fags" and questioning the manhood of people that don't share your point of view and so forth. (We are all children and vegans because we give you shit about your guns? ooooooook) I wonder which category you fit in to? Actually no I don't...
lol your hilarious doOd, you guys give me shit about the guns....and I give you shit about being fags and vegans...and YOUR feelings get hurt? :laughing-smiley-007
Thats literally the funniest and silliest thing I've ever heard. Thats like the cast of saturday night live making a public announcement that they are offended by an actor's accusations they were horrible impressionists. lol
Actually, its more like the cast of saturday night live getting upset with some one doing a saturday night live parody. Your silliness knows, no bounds sir lol.
On an aside I actually really did never like BJJ, even from a tactical standpoint. Yeah in a cage it might be the single most effective martial art in the world but in the real world I've found altercations often have multiple opponents and when you wrap up one guy his mates have open season on the back of your head.
Yeah, lol...well if you would actually TAKE BJJ you'd know it doesn't tell you to jump on the floor and wrestling with people while his five friends stand over you lol. Part of BJJ is knowing how NOT to get taken down as well. We tech stand up, strikes, everything. Its not just rolling around on the floor brother.
Even when you think they don't there are often others waiting in the shadows. One fight I had with a Cambodian guy once (in Cambodia) who was dragging a girl up the beach by her hair until I tackled him turned very quickly from 1 on 1 to 5 on one. I had him in a choke hold nicely until I got the bottle smashed over the back of my head.....
That same bottle would of been smashed over your head while your hands were up jabbing him with punches too. There is no bruce lee martial art that teaches you to fight ninjas in the shadows or multiple opponents. But saying BJJ doesn't work in the streets or isn't practical for self defense is nonsense. Infact..on my website
BJJ.ORG | Expert Online Training I have a whole section devoted to youtube videos that show BJJ being used for self defense in actual fights
BJJ IN STREET FIGHTS | BJJ.ORG
Of course BJJ doesn't make you superman, but to say it isn't practical is silly. Everything has disadvantages. Thats like me saying boxing doesn't work, because you can slip a punch.
never take a fight to the ground until it's the only option - you loose mobility, the ability to defend against multiple attackers and the ability to just get the fuck out of there in a hurry.
Yeah, BJJ teaches you how to strike standing. It also teaches you how to GET OFF THE GROUND, sweep a guy on top of you (so you can GET OFF THE GROUND) or prevent take downs from happening in the first place. (If your in a situation that you feel like going to ground is a bad idea)
It also gives you the tools to dominate a person if you ARE on the ground and how to take it to the ground though, IF that is the choice you make or feel like its the right decision, but it doesn't DICTATE it. Again, we train Muay Thai, wrestling, boxing at our school as well. I'm not sure why you keep harping on the BJJ aspect of it.
