Fuck!

Pick a traffic source, research it, check whats running there consistently (successfully) and run the same with your own ads (split testing constantly). Not hard.

You need to stick to one traffic source and not bounce about, otherwise you will not master anything. I can recommend POF, Facebook or PPV (Traffic Vance is the best) for a beginner.

You need to proper SPEND to get the right data. Don't think that dropping $100 and then moving on is going to work, you need to BUY data and split test like crazy.

The biggest thing you can do for yourself is to find one area or tactic that you have found at least minimal success (even if its a $3 commission that you haven't even collected) and then concentrate on that 1 thing that you did to generate that $3 and keep replicating it by putting all your efforts into it. It could easily take you 6 months or more (or less) to start being consistent. Create a system to reproduce and replicate.

The biggest thing was mentioned already don't quit

Sounds like you need more testing on less methods. Its easy to spread yourself too thin trying out every type of monetization.

And yes you will hit a lot of failures before finding the ones that work.

I'd pick 2-3 of the methods you tried that seemed to make money and refine them until it's more consistent.

Try going deeper instead of laterally. In many cases its the product or offer that's the issue.

For instance I tried some clickbank, didnt have success for a while and though cb was a waste of time until I hit up some winning products. Then I realized it wasnt an issue of the method but the offer itself. I just choose poor ones initially. When I did the same thing but with a better product it worked out great.

So take a few of those methods you did and just start cycling through different offers. You might find you were doing all the right things but just missing that one ingredient.

I dunno what I'm doing either, I come here mostly for the dancing banana's and interesting threads. Mostly when I find something that seems like good info I save it. I've slowed down most of my online money making endeavors. Real life has been absolutely brutal lately, last few years have been a lot of blood sweat and tears but this last year has been I dunno, just a lotta blood. I work at least 40hrs a week 3rd shift, in the off time I try to learn how to make some supplemental income online and look for a better job off line. As it is I'm barely scraping by so I can understand the frustration.

Read the dip by Seth godin.

It's a short read (an hour or two at most), and describes your situation perfectly. The example of the woodpecker he gives is particularly relevant.

After that, you have some decisions to make.

Oh, and don't expect anything you read in this thread to really help you. The stuff you need to get through right now is something you can only beat by experience. Everyone who is successful has been through it several times though, if that's any comfort.

Book Review: The Dip by Seth Godin « ================== adam’s bessed blog

Neat book (not my blog).

At this point i wouldnt say this forum is in the loop. id say 90% of the people who post here and post in the STS section make jack shit and are probably in the same boat you are in.

But anyway..

There is no real hidden secret to making money online.

It took me awhile when i first started doing this to realize that there is no secret combination of words put together that will make you sell millions. Or a book that will teach you how to become a internet millionaire if you follow someones tips for selling.

I've learned a lot over the past few years and I spent a lot of time doing what your doing now. Reading a lot of information, wanting to know the "secrets". Wanting to know how to sell anything to anyone.

Problem was when i first started, i never used that information because i never knew how to use it.

When you read something don't take in the information as it is. Instead analyze why the information you are reading has worked. Understand the reasoning behind it and you will gain much more knowledge out of what you are reading.

If you are having a hard time creating pitches that sell. Don't write them as sales pitches. Write them as stories. Nobody wants to read a sales pitch so why would you write your sales pitch to look like a sales pitch? You're not billy mays so stop writing your sales pitch like a TV infomercial.

Create stories with emotion and words that help your prospect visualize themselves using your product and how wonderful there world will be while using it.

Nothing beats a good story.

But nothing beats the combination of a good story and....

Few people will have become successful from doing this for a few years. In fact, a large majority of people have been at it for years, kept at it, and only then found success.

It's all about not giving up, and staying motivated. It also help to have some money to re-invest in projects.

Your main problem is that you think that copying other people's checklist and competing with them is a great way to get rich. - The problem you have is that in a competitive market, the only guy making money is the bastard that outworks everyone else.

If you suck it up and quit bitching you got 3 options. Otherwise only look at number 3.

1. Outwork the fuckers who you are trying to copy and beat them at their own game.
- They have a pretty damn big head start, so you better be ready to slog it out for a few years.
2. Quit trying to copy people and go come up with your own shit.
- Theres loads of unsolved problems that mfa guys, affiliates, seo gurus and other rabble would love to pay you to have solved. Get off your ass, identify something and start selling a damn solution.

3. Hook me up with some extra ketchup on those fries.

We were all in your shoes at one point. If I was successful you wouldn't see my ass posting here - I'd pay people to do that for me.

My guess is that after so many failures you just gave up and decided to try another way to make money. Bouncing all over the place chasing after how other people have done it. All entrepreneurs have failures, all affiliate marketers have failures. But we keep at it until we hit successes.

You gave up to easily and was not focused enough to make anything worthwhile. Stop reading how gurus or other people made their money and find you own route. You are just going to always be chasing after someones crumbs.

THIS^^^

I can't BELIEVE all the people that actually dignified this thread with even a Quasi-Seous response.

One, this angst-dripping, diseased goat's penis of a thread belonged at the VERY least in the n00b section, if not totally at WaFo.

Two, there's a couple of glaring tells in OP's OP...

It feels like I've been at this for months... then...
...after all this time.
Wat teh motherfucking fuck. Months, eh?

Crackpot for the win here. +rep

Brent- join the fuckin Army dude.

I think galacon is correct.

But, just in case Brent+1 is for real. If you know enough about dickrolls then how come you did not know enough to post in the newbie section? I mean this is a critical point. If you are not perceptive enough to understand that, then you need to re-read the entire forum, or at least all of the stickies, a few more times.

Have you even read the thread how to make $500K in 2011? This is another point because I have read it twice forgetting what it really was. That is because I have poured over the forum and read everything at least 2 times. Now I am not making any big bucks at all of this, primarily because I need cash all of the time and need to sell sites fast. But really, I just sold another site on Flippa, this time for $3K and I had put under $150 into it over the course of a couple months. This shit is not hard. But you need to actually read.

One last thing. There are some people that probably make significant money at all of this. Some who are even on this forum. But remember, cash flow is relative. Yes there are probably some that are making 5 maybe even 6 figures a month net. But most that claim to be ballers are probably really under 20 years old and think $5K a month is ballin'. Personally I need at least $12K a month to barely scrape by. So everything is relative. I would not considered myself even stable unless I hit high five or 6 figures per month.

If you are not real and some sort of troll like Galacon suggested - then Screw off for taking some of my mind.

I'm not trolling. Yes, I've read that thread. I was frustrated when I posted this thread. Thanks for the serious reply.

Just because I created an account this month doesn't mean I haven't lurked here for quite some time. I find that I'm more productive if I don't actually post and interact. There's usually not much to gain from that anyway.
