I enjoyed fear and loathing but I just don't understand why everyone says it is such an amazing film, I guess Hunter S. Thompson's genius is lost on me.
Read his book The Rum Diarys. It's almost auto-biographical, and it's got less drugs, but more booze. It may help you understand where he's coming from with Fear and Loathing.
