Game over for McCain?

The popular vote though pretty much shows you how f'ed up things are. Almost even and one will probably win with such a small margin of the peoples votes.

I'd SO love to see a third party ACTIVE in the debates and on the tickets. It would shake things up, and give us another 'choice'.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I agree with the third party situation- but the current two would never allow for more competition. They already hold too much power.

Straight popular vote would be a better system. The real change needs to be in campaign financing. It's super hard to have your voice heard if you are in the Green or Libertarian party. But if PITA throws blood on fur coats they make the news on every channel. I guess there is something to said about being the loud minority.

What would be even better would be for the networks to stop exclusively promoting the major parties. These guys are corrupted elitists on either side. I'd be happy even if they just had a 3rd party debate at 3AM on a Sunday, fucking anything to make this political system more fair.

.... it's far from it now and looks to be getting worse.

Erect: Well, the Green's have a non-political arm that gets in the news a lot... But then they get called "economic terrorist", whatever the fuck that means, because they dare interrupt commerce.

... Also, it's PETA. Pita is what you put falafels in, and if you bake them, they make an awesome substitute for potato crisps.

If a 3rd party candidate ever gets considered to be a serious contender for a major office, watch how fast they become a real politician and stop talking about things like eliminating the IRS and kicking the UN out of New York.

Yep, I douched that acronym up. At least I put them in the correct context so I sound semi-intelligent. I'd of looked like a bigger idiot if I said they were protesting outside abortion clinics, so there is some saving grace.

I've often thought about latching on to the green party just because of their name. Green is associated with "earth friendly" & "bubbling bong" so they could easily gain some popularity off those platforms with some creative marketing.

In the end Green & I are not a great match but I would consider becoming active if they merged with another party and gained some momentum. I think we, as a country, are desperate for a new choice ... the republocrats have been in power since what, like the progressive party of 1912. That was all about the celebrity status for TR, much like Perot's Reform party. Take away the person and the party dies.

Each person would be different, I thing Reagan was a pretty straight shooter and he was a Republican. I feel the same about Ron Paul. I can't think of a democrat whom I respected as a person because he was uncorruptable ... Possibly Kucinich?

We'll never know if we don't try and just being satisfied with the lousy choices we have is simply not good enough.

My gf's mum is active in the green party here. I agree with a lot of their stuff and vote Green in the European elections - which is the fairest electoral system I've seen so far, proportional representation.

My Green MEP is a decent person, which makes a change for a politician, and the green group does some good stuff in Europe but I can't say I agree with them on everything.

With a parlimentary system it's relatively easy to implement PR - our third largest party support it and they may hold the balance of power next time (I'm hoping) - but with a presidential system it's harder.

The best option I can see would be a direct vote for president, PR for the congress and senate and only allow the President to draw from nationally elected officials when choosing his or her cabinet.

Cynthia McKinney - 2008 Green Party Nominee

Until 2006, she was a member of Congress, where she spent her time on important things like trying to pass a bill to release the government's secret records on Tupac Shakur and assaulting Capitol police.

But wait, it gets better. McKinney upped the crazy ante recently when she claimed that the government executed 5,000 males and dumped them in a swamp in Louisiana. She stated that she assumed they were prisoners, because they were mostly males. Why, because only dudes go to prison? Somebody has never seen Caged Heat.

This information supposedly came to her via a phone call from a woman whose son was one of those tasked with disposing of the bodies. Sure, that probably sounds dubious, but McKinney assures us she took the extra step of verifying the story with insiders. We're hoping that "insiders" is the loving pet name she's given to the voices in her head. Otherwise, someone out there with information to share that, if true, could be vital to the very fabric of American life, decided that the best place to go with it was here...

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you Cynthia McKinney

cracked.com fucking rocks!!!

All hail Obama.

Note to Popeye: There are places you can call that will help you if you feel like ending it all. An election isn't worth it.

I still get to bitch though - and so did anyone who DIDN'T vote for him.

hail obama? thats way too reminiscent of hail Hitler.
